After forcibly sending Lan Zhan back to Cloud Recesses, Wei Ying's exhausted body collapsed onto the hard floor. He found himself on his hands and knees, his hair cascading all around him like a veil. His emotions warred inside his heart and mind, an unstoppable force he did not have the strength to oppose right now.

"What did I just do?" he whispered painfully, clutching his head.

"The right thing." A lone voice answered.

Wei Ying leapt to his feet and pulled Chenqing from his belt, his legs somewhat wobbly. "Who's there?" he shouted, his own voice still strange to him.  He reached for his robes that he had discarded onto the floor earlier and put them back on hastily.

Memories of all the people who had desired his death the last time he was in this body sent a shiver of panic through him. His bones ached and his skin burned. His power was weakened after teleporting Lan Zhan and his defenses were on high alert. Hell! He had just woken up in his old body, threatened the entire cultivational world, and sent his husband away as if he was the enemy!

Slowly, a shadowy figure emerged from one of the side chambers. Wei Ying squinted trying to get a better look at the person boldly approaching him. He seemed familiar but from where? When? The man's face was smiling and his posture held no ill intent as his steps brought him closer to Wuxian.

"Wei Wuxian. Yiling Laozu. Master. It's me. Fan Yingpei." Fan explained as he held his hands out in front of him, his head slightly lowered.

"F-Fan?" Wei Ying murmured in disbelief.

"Yes. It's alright. I have no intention of harming you." Fan Yingpei's smile grew even larger once recognition spread across Wei Ying's face. "Might I say, you are looking quite handsome, master."

"How? How did you recognize me? What are you doing here, Fan?" Confusion made Wei Ying's head swim wildly, a wave of nausea washing over him. His body swayed before he was steadied by Fan's arms. The two men sat on a nearby rock staring at each other.

"I am here for you, master." Fan Yingpei said gently. He knelt on the ground in front of Wei Ying and kowtowed at Wuxian's feet.

"But, how did you.......how long have you......?" Wei's mind was still a muddled mess and he was beginning to question whether his friend was actually here or if he was hallucinating.  He looked around the cave wondering if anyone else was going to appear unexpectedly.
