This is definitely a classic queer period film and everyone knows it. I have a thing for age gaps and MILFs and this movie has both.
Aside from Cate Blanchett, it's cinematography, it's sensual and steamy scenes and the acting is definitely a reason to watch the film.
Although the movie has an open ending I would like to believe that Carol and Therese made up and lived happily ever after.
