This movie is written and directed by the same person as "The Portrait Of A Lady On Fire" but unlike the former this movie is criminally underrated.
The film explores adolescent love and young sexuality. Marie a teenage girl develops a crush on Floriane which develops into an infatuation, this is depicted through different ways.
Though Floriane also feels something for Marie, the heteronormative surroundings make her feel that she has to pursue boys. This causes her to use Marie, it honestly hurt me to watch everytime an intimate scene between them was interrupted and Floriane chose to go after the boys.
It could be seen the Marie herself understands their unhealthy dynamic but still can't stop herself from returning back to Floriane which honestly is very relatable.
In end the Marie couldn't take it anymore and jumps in a swimming pool, trying to drown her feelings along it. It was rather sad and tragic and made me feel a rollercoaster of emotions.
