The movie is set in the 19th century and is based on the first ever homosexual couple to get married, the respect I have for them and their bravery is huge.
I loved the overall black and white cinematography and both the lead actresses had great chemistry and gave an amazing performance. It will make you smile and it will make you cry and above all it will give you endgame lesbians.
I really felt that the critics gave a really harsh judgement to the film. It may not be perfect and there may be a weird octopus sex thing but I loved how the story was played out.
Though I do think they could have done better in the make-up department, cause Elisa's disguise as a male definitely needed some touch ups.
In the end we see that they grew old together which made me very happy. Overall this film may not be perfect but it still deserves a watch.
