Unlike the chaos unraveling outside the bubble that encased what used to be the little lonely cabin, the inside remained calmer than ever. Y/n was still lying gently on the bed, tucked securely under the covers without a clue as to what was happening outside of the shell she was trapped in.
She was sitting, waiting, and simply existing. It seemed boring in her own mind - boring without wanda being there to comfort her. To be honest, it was boring without the company of anyone, and the one presence she did have there continued to annoy her. However, she did try to make the most of having the voice there while she could.
"So i could make someone who's sad..." y/n thought for a moment, "feel happy?"
"Once you learn how to, yes." The voice she'd had to speak to replied to her.
"And how am I supposed to learn that?" She shrugged.
"I'm not the one you should be asking. You are the apprentice to the scarlet witch, after all." It reminded her as if she would've forgotten.
"Okay, so how will-." She cut her question short the moment she heard something that seemed out of place.
"Just try and break it down." A third party dipped into her headspace for a moment, and then fled straight back out.
However, even though it was another person that was audible to y/n, they weren't inside her head with her. Instead, y/n was slowly breaking through to consciousness and was therefore starting to hear the outside voices, as opposed to the inside voices she'd grown so accustomed to.
"Perhaps we'll have a change of scenery then." The voice dipped in once again.
Startled by the presence of someone other than her own subconscious, y/n tensed, "what's happening?"
"You're ready." The voice of her legacy told her.
"What?" Y/n asked, "why, what's happened?"
"You're needed." It told her, it's volume slowly fading away as y/n's mind returned to her body once again.
"What do you mean I'm needed?" She asked with a pant.
It's voice was on the verge of completely fading as it said, "With my final breath, I pronounce that the scarlet witch is reborn."
Then, within seconds, y/n was pulled out of her mental state and thrown back into the body that lied tucked under wanda's cover. Her eyes shot open the second she felt something on her fingertips, a blue energy lining her iris which slowly faded as she adjusted to being back.
She gasped for breath and sat up to do so, her head turning in every direction that emitted the sound of struggle. From the windows beside her, there were mutters. From the wooden walls behind her, there was struggled and forceful bangs. And, lastly, from the front of the house, there were arguments that she was only just able to hear as they echoed down the empty hallway.
Without wasting any time, she pulled herself from the bed and paced towards the front door. Of course, she felt different. Her arms seemed heavier, now carrying the weight of the energy, and her anger felt amplified. Even though she didn't know exactly what was happening outside, she knew it couldn't have been good, and that's what angered her.
The second she got to the front door, she pulled it open with a force and stepped out of it as far as she could. Wanda's barrier remained circled around the cabin, blocking everything from getting in - but what she didn't consider was that it was also going to block anyone from getting out.
Y/n was forced to stop at the lining of wanda's magic, but it didn't dull down her urge to jump straight into the action. Looking through the glistening red of the wall, y/n was able to see someone towering over wanda's pain induced slouch. It didn't take a second longer for her to realise who it was standing there, which only made her frustration and anger explode within her chest.
However, any amount of energy she was able to push out was blocked and dismissed the moment it collided with wanda's barricade. Hayward, hearing the sound of the barrier being meddled with, shot his head up and met eyes with y/n, where he then put on a cocky smile.
Without saying - or mouthing - anything, he called over two guards by the wave of his fingers and began returning to the inside of the quinjet that waited for him. The guards instantly obliged and picked wanda up, following Hayward's walk while dragging the restrained witch by her arms.
"Fuck." Y/n groaned to herself, the frustration she felt from not being able to get out boiling over her, "WANDA!"
Her hand banged against the wall as if it would get wanda's attention, even though she was compromised. After Hayward was securely standing in the quinjet with wanda, he looked at y/n with a grin and a glance as he smacked the end of a pistol against wanda's head, causing her to drop completely onto the floor.
The second wanda's eyes closed, the barrier was released, and y/n was free. She practically leapt off of the steps and began running across the grass until she realised that she wasn't going to be able to make it onto the same quinjet, even if she tried with everything she had.
"Have fun trying to catch up." Hayward smirked down at her as the hangar door closed, and the jet rose from the ground.
She groaned loudly to herself before instantly turning to where another one of the quinjets were. Two quinjets remained rested on the grass, until one of them began closing its hatch with the intent to follow after the director.
Clenching her jaw, y/n ran to the hatch and dove in before it was able to shut to a close, which startled the two agents that were trying to leave. The second she hit the ground of the quinjet, the agent that wasn't handling the controls attempted to spring into action.
Fuelled by anger, y/n pulled back for a strong punch, but her attention was caught by the blue energy that accompanied the clenched fist. She looked at the way it twirled between her fingers briefly, before she snapped out of the trance.
"Oh, yeah." She realised, and threw the energy at the agent instead.
It locked around him tightly and, while it was still in her control, y/n turned harshly and threw the agent to the wall at the back of the quinjet, watching him hit it and crash to the ground. Y/n had her back facing the pilot, which was soon to be used against her.
The pilot leapt from his seat while y/n seemed to be distracted and locked his arms around hers as if to stop her from being able to use the powers on him. But, of course, the agent was no match for what was now the scarlet apprentice.
Y/n flipped herself forward at an angle and pulled the agent over with her so that he would crash to the ground, which he did. With an annoyed grunt, she paced over to the controls for the hatch and slammed it open. As the door slowly made its way open, she used the newfound energy she had to lift up the two agents from the floor. Then, the moment the door was opened enough, she simply guided them out and dropped them onto the grass, before she slammed the button to close the door again.
She didn't even take a minute to catch a breath before she paced over to the pilots seat and dropped herself in it. The moment she sat down, she looked down at the radar which had previously been turned on and straightened her posture when she saw what she needed to see.
"There you are, you son of a bitch." She muttered as she tightened her hold on the controls, and began taking off.
