Paring: Peter Parker (Spiderman) X Reader
Warnings: swinging from buildings and mentions a lil violence
Spoilers: none
------------------------------------------
With a your school math text book, an oversized (f/c) jumper on and a bag of snacks, you, ______ ______, ordinary human made your way to sit on the roof of your building to multitask - studying, and watching your boyfriend Peter (also known to journalist J. J. Jameson as the notorious Spiderman)...but evidently, the studying part wasn't working out as well as you'd hoped it would. You mean...you'd done all you could for everything else in that revision section, but the last bit? Too confusing.
Somehow, whenever you heard a cry for help ("Give me your wallet! Or Leave me alone, you big bully!") or see a web shot out and a blurry red and blue figure swing by you would smile to yourself and shake your head.
If it weren't for you to help balance it out, your boyfriend Peter Parker would have to pretend to be a normal teenager, get good grades at school, help Aunt May around the house, pretend to not be Spiderman - and still have time for sleep.
If only you were a superhero like Pe-Spiderman. You pictured yourself in a suit, saving everyday people from things which needed someone else's power involved. While everyone demonized the X-Men or practically worshipped the Avengers, you wanted to be just like Peter.
"I know that look! Someone looks lost in thought," you heard a voice comment beside you. Jumping slightly, you turned to see Peter as he peeled the mask off his face, leaving it sitting over his hair.
"I was just watching you work, silly," you smiled, leaning over to kiss his cheek. Glancing down at your books, you added, "And, daydreaming, evidently."
"...and do homework again." Peter laughed, and shuffled closer toward you. "I've been saving New York for a couple of hours tonight, I guess I can take a break to help you. It's not like Fantastic 4 can't step in for me if I slack off. What is it?"
With a sigh you glanced to your textbook. "Algebra. I understand it...just not in fractions, Pete. You're smart, tell me why fractions and algebra seem to be a perfect match to everyone but me."
A kiss landed on your cheek, and by the time you looked down on your page, Peter had solved the answer.
"How...?"
His usual joker face turned serious, and leaning closer, you watched how he explained the equation. After a while, he urged you to take the pen and try to sketch out a different answer without looking at his for guidance too much. You checked the back of the textbook, and gasped.
It was correct.
"I - I think I get it!" You whispered, and turning to Peter, kissed his lips, or, what the mask wasn't still covering. "Spiderman saves the day once again, seeing as that was the last equation due for tomorrow."
He laughed, helping you gather your books to go downstairs to your families apartment. As you stood, you nearly toppled forward to your boyfriend, he caught you and noted your legs were numb. "How about, to shake these pins and needles, I take you around the city while in uniform and maybe gelato some other time when I'm not on the job?"
You kissed Peter on the nose. "I'd love to. Is it scary?"
Peter frowned. "Gelato? No, it's just like ice cream -,"
"I meant - I meant flying like that. With the web shooters. Just being free to do acrobatics and have witty comebacks and fight crime -,"
Peter laughed. "I'm still an amateur, ________, I'm not even a legal adult! And as for the wit -,"
"C'mon Pete," you whined, jumping on the spot like a child for the toilet, "my pins and needles are almost gone, let's fl-fly!"
The last word came out as a shout because of the sudden movement; in a matter of seconds, Peter Parker had pulled his mask down, looped an arm around your waist and had shot a web to the building across the street. As you felt the night air whssshing past your face unlike anything you'd ever done, you did all you could not to scream aloud as Peter swung from the newly shot out webs like a teen aged red and blue masked monkey.
"This is so amazing!" you cried out as the pair of you passed a high rise office, the paper-pushers too deep in their work to notice Spiderman and his girlfriend _______ go past.
You heard him chuckle, but before too long, you were returned to your feet on the apartment roof you had started from. A small groan came out before you could stop it.
"You've got to get home before your parents realize you've been gone way too long," Peter lifted his mask, kissing your cheek, "And I've got to save some people."
"Alright..." you concluded, cupping his head and kissing his jaw, "But on one condition."
Peter laughed. "And what would that be?"
"We have to do this again!"
