-"Isn't this a little tight?" You questioned as you gazed at your friend—who also happened to be the villages' cloth store. Not only did she sell amazing clothes along with the fabrics and materials needed, she also dressed up other maidens for certain occasions. When payed the proper amount for her services, that is.
"C'mon, Nobara!" You sighed as she began to add extra things to your outfit. You stood still in a white and red village robe-like dress. She had did your [enter hair type here] perfectly, and added red ribbons for an extra affect. "I'm not having that gross curse come over here to destroy this shack just because I didn't make you looked good enough!" Nobara grumbled as she stood back and admired her work. She pushed a few strands of her short brown hair behind her ear and hummed. "There we go!" She have a cheeky smile, "toooge~ you can put the purple silk ribbons away." Nobara yelled out and Toge, your other friend, poke his head from behind the back curtains that lead into the backroom.
"Tuna."
"Thanks toge," you smiled at his compliment as he walked over to you. His mouth and nose was covered by a scarf you had made him for his birthday a year ago, and he wore quite the rags despite working with Nobara. Well—more like she forced him to work for her after he ruined fifty silver coins worth of materials for clothes. "Bonito Flakes." He mumbled and placed his hand on your head, and despite you being [taller/shorter] than him, he still loved to do that sometimes. "Yes, yes~ I'll be safe. If I don't return in two days...then you'll know why." Nobara frowned and sniffed as she stared at you, "just be careful, alright?"
"Who else am I going to have to fight and argue with customers who refuse to pay if you don't come back!" She frowned and latched herself to your arm. "So you have to come back! No matter what!" She barked like an angry chihuahua, causing you to laugh and nod. "Of course. Well...since my outfit is ready," you bit your lip as you realized the day had finally come. "Cya," you frowned and turned around, rushing out of the shack. If you stood in there any longer, you might've ended up crying. But there was no time for things such as that; you just had to women up and get it over with.
After returning home, you saw Megumi sitting on your shack's step while he petted a white horse. "My daughter!" Your father yelled out as he ran from inside the shack to outside, a purple cloth covering the top of his head as it was tied in the back and he wore a white apron. He held a large wooden spoon in his hand, "I cooked a meal that'll cover you just in case anything happens! I also provided a rock for a weapon, extra shoes-"
"The ride isn't that far ahead. And I'm afraid she won't be able to take anything other than what's needed." Megumi explains and your father huffed as he stomped over to Megumi like a gremlin and began to yell out words and curses. You chuckled softly as your brother stepped out. "Be careful." He says, avoiding your gaze. "I'll be fine. I'll come back in two days, I promise." Your brother—who wanted to act tough but was a secret softie for you, trapped you in a tight hug. "I think...I have apple juice in my eyes." He mumbled as he wiped away a tear and you deadpanned. "You only tear up with onions, Kyou. Just admit that you're crying for your dear little sister." You teased and his face suddenly turned stone cold, "and I instantly regret it."
And before you knew it, you were bidding farewell to your father and brother as you hopped onto the white horse. Your father cried in your brother's chest as your brother looked like he was done with life.
The rest of the villagers...just stared. Some gave you a pity smile—while others shook their head; knowing they'd never see you again. The atmosphere was unbearable; it was suffocating.
