—"So you've been staying here?" You questioned and Megumi nodded. You both sat on your wooden step in the back of your house. He had hit you in the head after you accidentally yelled out, "YOU DONT HAVE FIVE WIVES?!" And for an apology he bought you sweets.
Megumi nodded his head and gazed at his pale hands, "I wanted confirmation about something. And I needed it soon. I've had something stuck in my head for a while now, and I can't get it out. So even if it doesn't work out—I want to get it off my chest." Megumi then clenched his hands as his long lashes covered his eyes. You found yourself smiling softly at your friend, "I won't question what it is. I know how much you like your secrets." You leaned back and gazed at the blue sky. There were few clouds out and the sun was bright.
"How have things been with Sukuna?" Megumi questioned and you found yourself humming deeply. "Well...it's going." You admit.
This caused Megumi to give a confused stare. "Okay, how do I explain this," you sit up and face Megumi, "so I still dislike him because he's evil and cares about no one, yet I actually found myself enjoying his presence when we were walking back to his palace. And ever since then, I began to think about him." Megumi's expression then turned really...low quality. That was the only way you could explain it.
"You're falling in love with him after only enjoying his presence once?"
"Hey! Who said I was falling in love with him?!" You stated with your hands on your hips. "I just meant that...well, I don't know! You're the one who asked how things were going!" You huffed and Megumi smiled and put his hands up in defense. You then looked at your lap and spoke again; "though...it did bother me that he knows how we met." Megumi turns to stare at you. But he didn't seemed shocked. He didn't seem surprised, angry, sad, conflicted—his expression was simply unreadable. "I was sorta wishing to keep that memory between us for all of eternity like we promised all those years ago, but ay, it's whatever." You smiled trying to bring the mood up. You didn't like the way his eyes seemed empty after you said sukuna knew how you two met.
"But of course~ I don't expect you to remember that silly promise." You went to speak again but Megumi spoke first:
"But I do."
He didn't dare glance away as his eyes were locked with yours. As sad as it was to admit, you were shocked that he remembered. Megumi didn't seem like the type of guy to remember things so long ago—at least, from how you saw him. "Believe it or not, but that night made me who I am now." He placed his hand on the back of his neck as a dust of pink covered his cheeks.
You wanted to think about that night—but you didn't have time. You had to get back to the palace soon. You stood up and patted off your outfit, "I'm going to go say bye to my father and Ryou. Also I'm taking you with me when I leave, Megumi." You eyed him and headed for your slide open door. "Fine." He simply responded with his eyes closed. You gave him one last glance before walking inside.

"I'll come by more often, promise." You hugged your father goodbye. He had offered to make you food, but you really didn't have time. That and you were tired of apples. "If anything goes wrong just come here and I'll be there to kick ass." Your brother gave a toothy smile as he pointed his thumb towards his chest, "I'll protect ya!"
