Chapter 9

You swung with all your might as the curse was hit in the face. The blow wasn't powerful enough to knock it a hundred feet back, but it did cause the curse to skid back a bit. Almost Everyone in your village was a jujustu user; but it was banned for anyone to actually practice or train themselves with their skill unless they worked at Sukuna's palace. But sometimes in your free time, you'd break the rules and Megumi would train you here from there.

"Hurry! Let's run!" You yelled and began to run away as everyone followed after you. "I'm guessing you couldn't hold it off from wherever you first fought the curse?" You questioned and the man with pink hair spoke: "yeah! It was too powerful. We had a plan in mind but then we ran into you along with Mei and Akria." You wanted to speak but it was getting hard to. A burning sensation covered your lungs as your ribs to began to ache. Sure, you weren't super active, but you also weren't super inactive. It was just you were running too much and it seemed that your adrenaline had worn off.

Shit, all you did was help your brother with his Apple shop and hang out with friends. You weren't over here training to be a damn warrior!

"I won't be able to run soon-!" You gasped out as you pushed your body past its limits. Megumi gave you a worried glance,

But then the curse jumped in front of you guys.

Your eyes widened as it sent a powerful shock wave that seemed to radiate heat. You placed your hands in front of you in an automatic defense mechanism. It felt all so strange. Your feet were off the ground as it felt like fifteen strong punches had hit you. You all flew back; The man with pink hair and the girls hitting the concrete with a skid, while you along with megumi headed towards a building. Your eyes were shut tight as a loud clash of wood was heard. It was strange how you didn't feel much pain. Assuming that you were probably dead, you opened your eyes ready to see those white pearly gates.

But you were met with the same palace.

Apparently Megumi had summoned one of his shikigami's. It was a bird; and it had your back against it's stomach while it's wings covered you. Wait-! Megumi! "Thank you!" You quickly thanked the bird and removed yourself from its grasp as the bird vanished in thin air. Next to the spot where you landed was a huge hole that went through one of the separated rooms. "Megumi!" You yelled out as worry consumed you. Not caring about the curse, you ran through the hole that was created and saw Megumi bleeding as he sat up against a wall inside the building. "Oh sweet Lordy in heels," you breathed out before rushing over to his aid. "I'm fine," he started and went to sit up. "You're bleeding, sweets. I don't think you're fine." You helped Megumi up and he tried to regain his balance. "I didn't want to do this, but.." he placed his hands together; but you instantly grabbed them. "You can't." You say eyeing him. You knew what he was about to do; but it was too dangerous. (Won't say it due to it being manga spoilers. I know, I'm so generous~)

Before anything else could happen a large yellow-like beam shot through the building. "Fuck, come on!" You yelled and grabbed Megumi's hand as you headed over to the hole and ran back outside. The curse danced around a bit and giggled upon seeing how badly injured Megumi was. "Fucking sadist!" You yelled out while pointing and Megumi mentally sighed at what you said. "We need to-" Megumi couldn't even finish his sentence before wincing and kneeling down. He held his ankle tightly and quickly looked up at you, "I might've injured it. Go ahead and run-" but once again, the curse had once again appeared.

Like the bitch it was, the curse sent another powerful wave towards you and Megumi. But this time megumi wasn't able to summon anything because you had bumped into him as you both blew in the air. Unfortunately, as gravity works, you hit the ground, your body skidding before hitting the ground and going in air only to hit the ground once more. Your skin felt like it was burning as every harsh impact made your ribs shake. It was painful.

You both laid on the ground, but due to you being less injured up until recently,  you were able to shakily push your body up. You now were on your knees before looking over to megumi who laid on the floor; trying to get up. "Fuck off!" You yelled, eyeing the curse as you pushed yourself in front of your dear friend. "Gross no-eye freak! You're lucky I'm not a damn sorcerer!" You began to shout useless rambles until Megumi grabbed your hand. "Don't aggravate it...idiot," he coughed up blood before sitting up. Obviously struggling while doing so.

"Look what it did to you! I don't even see the others! Whose to say this damn curse didn't hurt them either?!" You huffed and the curse giggled before slowly getting closer. As much shit as you spoke; you felt fear start to consume you.

I'm scared.

I don't want to die

I don't want Megumi to be hurt.

Megumi had laid back down in pain as it seemed that something was bothering him. Ignoring the curse completely you shifted yourself near him, now sitting behind him as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and placed his head on your lap. "Is that better?" You questioned and he refused to meet your gaze, "oddly yeah. But I feel like you're just using me as a shield."

"Guilty," You gave a weak smile as you looked up at the curse who began to wiggle in excitement as it's hand began to glow yellow. Your heart was beating fast out of fear but you were ready to accept what was going to happen.

Until you felt a large hand on your head.

Your eyes widened before you heard a deep voice speak above you, "I was expecting more from you. But for someone at your level, feel proud. You did well."

Sukuna walked past you and stood in front of the curse. Your heart was no longer beating in fear. More of—confusion?

"Hey, man. Usually I'd allow you to kill and start traumatizing others, but you do realize this is on my property?" He seemed relaxed and wasn't even a tad bit annoyed. "Not only are you on my property, but you also touched my property." Sukuna then looked back at you and whistled, "and did a number a number on her face and body. Outfit is all torn and she's badly injured. Anyone else would assume something else happened," he joked before opening his eyes and looking at the curse: "well, not like I'd allow that anyways."

"Come, let's fight this out somewhere else." Sukuna went to walk away but the curse grew scared and went to attack: but sukuna turned around, "idiot."

"Never thought he'd be so protective," Megumi spoke; shocked on the events that were happening. "It's only because I'm his personal chef. That, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't give a damn about me. It's just his selfishness  that's driving him." You explain and Megumi snapped his head to look at you—almost breaking his neck.

"You're his what?!"

[behind the scenes!]

"I'm not into you," Akira pouted as the man with pink hair carried her along with Mei. "Eh? But I'm not into twelve year olds either!" He defended and she stuck out her tongue. "I wanted megumi to carry me!"

"Really? I'd give up on him. He seems like a lover boy to Sukuna's offering. I mean, did you see the way he held her? He was enjoying that! I could totally see it in his face!" The man with pink hair gossiped as he ran and Mei chuckled like the damn pervert she was, "and didn't he grab her butt as well? I'm pretty sure we all know he was trying to pull a move here from there!" Mei explains before her face went pale, "Wait a moment...!"

"LET ME AT HIM! THAT WAS AN INTIMATE TOUCH!" Mei screamed as she was wiggling in the pink hair man's arms.

"HUSH, WILL YOU?!"
