You placed the blue flowers in front of the tombstone. Thankfully, you had found a decent place on top of a hill not too far from here for Megumi's grave. You had met up with the tired looking woman to ask about his chances of revival. She still told you how unsure she was, and that it would take longer to figure out. Unfortunately she did include that the chances of him walking earth again are slimmer than a village girls' two inch waist. You stared at the tombstone that had bitter sweet words carved onto it.

You wondered how it was. You've never been dead before, so it's hard to imagine what Megumi is going through right now.

He was a tough guy so you aren't too worried. You wanted to be mature and not let his death bother you too much. And so far—well, you've been doing good. It's not like he'd want you crying over his death everyday anyways. The sweet memory of him scolding you entered your mind as a fond smile tugged at your lips. "I miss you." You gazed at the empty grave for a few seconds longer. Exhaling, you turned around and walked away.

"Are you alright?" Mei would question as you sat alone at the long dinner table.

Ah- did you zone out again? It's been a bad habit. Your mind was always racing and you had so much mental shit wrong at this point that zoning off was a common occurrence. Thankfully, when you woke up this morning, Sukuna was already gone. This saved you from overthinking a bit and being embarrassed. Shaking off your thoughts, you turned to the dark-haired girl. "I'm sure you should be more concerned about Akira. Is she doing alright?" You'd frown and Mei gave a strange expression before pouring more water in your glass. "She's doing fine."

"Mei, you can talk to me. Just know I won't force you to say anything." You tried to reassure the girl but she simply shook her head. "As an offering, you should only relax. Besides..nothing is wrong-"

"Then why is your hand shaking?" You noted and Mei's eyes widened upon realizing she couldn't hide the truth. She bit her lip before slamming the container of water onto the table. "Akira..acted out in front of master today."

"She what?!" You yelled, shock filling you. "What do you mean?!" Mei gazed away, "ever since Fushiguro's death, she's been a bit...down. I took her on a trip to a nearby village she used to adore to try and get her spirits up. And it was working! She was doing so good!" Mei quickly turned, facing you with her tiny hands on her chest, "truly! She was doing so much better—" as if to convince herself rather than you, Mei realized how this all sounded. Shaking her head before a pathetic chuckle left her lips. "She defied Master today. And..."

Tears pricked the girls eyes as she soon took a step forward and clutched onto your sleeve; "please..help her..with how stubborn she's being..she might die..she's like a little sister to me.." the poor girl began to cry and you gently placed a hand on her shoulder. It's hard to believe this was the same cold girl who spoke to you when you first arrived to this cursed palace.

Mei looked at you with glossy eyes. "Mei, tell me what happened." She nods quickly and wipes away her tears before sniffling. "It started when.."

Sukuna was walking through one of the many hallways that belonged to the palace. Akria stood next to Mei as they stated the things they found. "That's it. The village will be prepared for destruction at any time. The area around (Y/n) has been cleared of curses as well. Rather than removing them, we gathered them outside the boundaries. Only village folk' will be forced to deal with them." Mei concluded and Sukuna hummed. "You did well." He'd praise the young girl with one hand out as he continued to walk forward.
