CH 29 - Conferred Title

Conferment Title Ceremony.

Since early morning, Jimin has been dolled up, face adorned with light makeup, hair has been tied up neatly with hairpin and body draped with his official Prince Consort robe, a combination of white, silver and black.

Jeongguk’s eyes staring at his gorgeous consort who is currently tidying his attire. He had already finished wearing his clothes and was just waiting for his husband.

Jimin wants to put an elixir that will change his eye color to black but was stopped by Jeongguk. He didn’t want him to be ashamed of his different eye color. Jeongguk complimented his beautiful pair of eyes over and over again.

At the palace, specifically Phoenix Court where the Emperor held any important ceremony, was filled with ministers, officers and their daughters along with their sons respectively. They are all waiting for the Emperor and the Empress’s arrival for the ceremony.

“The arrival of the Emperor and the Empress!” An announcement was made.

All members in the court immediately kneel down, paying respect to their esteemed Emperor and Empress. The Emperor walks to his seat, followed by his empress who then takes a seat beside him majestically.

The seating arrangements in the court were divided by gender and status. At the top, is where the Emperor and the Empress reside. On the second level, seats were specially reserved for the princes and the princesses. Only the Main Consort of princes and princesses was allowed to sit beside their partner.

For the nobles, they have to sit separately by gender. On the right, all noble wifes, daughters and female attendants and on the left, ministers, officers and sons.

“This King is elated with all of your attendance in today’s conferment title ceremony of Prince Consort to the Third Prince, Jeon Jeongguk! Please, have a drink!” The Emperor laughs.

After a few talks with the Emperor, it’s time for the ceremony. Jimin’s palm is sweaty as he is nervous with people’s expectations towards him. Jeongguk gently squeezed Jimin’s hand, immediately cooling down his anxiousness.

“Come forward, Park Jimin!” The emperor calls.
Jimin gracefully steps to the centre, greeting His Majesty politely. All the people in the court were amazed by his virtuous and polite manner. They also praised him for being a beauty that can throw the world.

“This King conferred you, Park Jimin as Prince Consort to Prince Jeon Jeongguk with the title ‘Snow Prince’ as a match with the Third Prince’s title as ‘Rain Prince’! This King hopes that you will justify your title and be responsible Prince Consort to the country. This King also wishes for you at ease holding a position as the Heir of Plum Section.” The Emperor decreed.

“Many thanks to Your Majesty for your grace!” Jimin received the scroll of the decree, kneeling on the floor.

The court then bustled with noises from people congratulating Jimin. Jimin walks back and sits beside his husband with a flushed face. Jeongguk held his hand, caressing him and congratulating him. He is also being a gentleman, putting food on Jimin’s plate causing the young daughters below, eyes staring with envy.

Well, Jeongguk is rumored to be cruel and violent but his handsome face still made the girls and ladies head over heels towards him.

Too bad, they saw clearly how a cold-hearted prince with a stern face turns gentle and soft and lovingly when he is facing his husband.

How can they not be jealous when they noticed Jeongguk treated Park Jimin as if he held his world? They are all envious but they can only watch from afar, gnashing their teeth, feeling helpless.

Some would say, they would rather marry a villain because a villain will sacrifice the world to save their loved one while a hero will sacrifice you to save the world. Jeongguk is one example of a man that only cares about his lover more than anything.
