You looked through your window as the occasional car rode down your street. Every time the sound of tires running across gravel met your ears you frantically looked up, hoping it would slow only to disappointedly look back down when it turned the street corner. Your palms were very hot and your stomach was turning. You were about to meet a friend you had only conversed on the phone with. Believe me when I say your (g/n) would gladly let her come over any time if it meant keeping the phone bill down.
However, you had no idea what her car looked like, no idea what she looked like, and no idea if she would be on time or not. You knew a lot about her, but these seemingly basic pieces of information had somehow slipped your mind in the many telephone discussions you'd had. You had wanted to meet her so bad, even after the fallout you had had with her friend Richie. You hoped it wouldn't affect your friendship with her, and she assured you it wouldn't.
And in the moment of being so immersed in your thoughts, you didn't even hear the knock at your front door. It took you seconds to register it, and when you did you could already hear the squeak of hinges as your (g/n) opened it. You stood up, your legs weak and lacking an explanation for why. She was just a friend. A friend who you had talked to umpteenth times, why was this any different?
"Um hi, is (Y/n) here?" You heard a familiar voice say.
"You must be Beverley, come in!" Your (g/n) greeted. You turned the corner and saw her smile, and suddenly the air left your chest. She had short curls the color of the fiery sun sitting atop a pale, freckled face, and her eyes were a green that was so vibrant it would've put freshly grown grass to an unspeakable shame. She was beautiful, radiant even.
"Hey (Y/n)," She said. Your cheeks turned red as you looked down at yourself, suddenly very insecure.
"Um, hey Bev... Come in, my room is this way." You said meekly. She gave a small smile and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear as she followed you down the hall. You pushed open the door of your room and slinked inside, standing by the mirror as she shut the door behind her. She stood awkwardly with her hands on her bag and you coughed in an attempt to both soothe your dry throat and break the uncomfortable silence.
"So..." You started. She laughed quietly and you couldn't help but join.
"Hi." She said. You looked at your feet before stuffing your hands in your pockets.
"Hi."

You groaned as you laid on your bed, Beverly lying next to you.
"I'm so bored." She said. You blew a piece of hair out of your face.
"Me too dude." You replied. Your eyes wandered to your open window as you watched the sun dip slowly into the sky. A smile crept onto your face as you got an idea.
"Hey, you know what would be fun?" You asked. She turned her head.
"Hmm?" She asked. You looked at her with your large grin still painted on your face.
