You hummed quietly as your nimble fingers weaved through your boyfriend's hair. He had a content smile on his face, sighing in bliss every so often. There was nothing he loved more than this. To simply be in each other's presence. Peaceful and utterly in love.

You grabbed a small strand of his hair, twirling it between your fingers. His beautiful brown eyes looked up at you from behind the curtain of his bangs. You smiled and kissed his forehead to which he chuckled at.

"Can I try something?" You asked, adjusting your position so you were sitting more upright. Eddie raised his eyebrows and sat up as well, facing you as he draped his arm over his knee.

"Well, that depends on what you want to try." He replied. You smiled and leaned closer to him.

"Come on, don't you wanna be surprised?" You said. He brought his face level to yours, his cheeks a dusty pink as he gazed at you lovingly.

"Surprise me huh?" He inquired, placing his finger on his chin to feign thinking. You pursed your lips and nodded. His fond smile grew in size as he leaned over and placed a quick kiss on your lips.

"Alright love, surprise me." He replied. You giddily jumped from the couch, immediately darting to his restroom. You could hear him chuckle from the room over. You made quick work of the cabinets, shuffling through the clutter until you found what you were looking for. A brush, a comb, and two hair ties. There was only one more thing you needed. You rushed back into the living room, tossing everything at him which he fumbled to catch.

"Wire. Do you have any wire?" You asked.

"Wire?"

"Yes,. Wire." Eddie cluelessly stared at you for a moment before you clarified.

"L-Like copper wire. You know for- Well I don't actually know any practical uses for it but I do need some." You said. Eddie raised his eyebrows in thought.

"I mean I can check if my uncle has some. In a toolbox maybe. But I'm still confused as to why you would-"

"Yes! Please! Check! And wire cutters too if he's got them." You replied, brimming with excitement. He laughed before standing up and shrugging, going into his uncle's room to search for your peculiar request. He returned a few minutes later, copper wire and cutters in his hand. He could've sworn he'd seen your eyes sparkle with excitement. You grabbed both items and set them with everything else, placing your hands on his shoulders to steer him where you wanted him to go.

He sat on the floor in front of the couch and you sat directly behind him, neatly organizing all the items you'd brought out. You grabbed the brush and began to gently untangle the knots, starting from the tips and working your way to the roots like you'd been taught as a child. His head jostled around slightly, but nothing you weren't used to.

"That's nice... You should do this more often." He said, leaning his head back into your touch. You smiled and kissed the top of his scalp. You continued untangling his mane, always making sure he was comfortable. Once you were finished, you grabbed the comb and slowly started parting his hair as evenly as possible. It took a few tries but once it was straight, you smiled down at your work.

"Now comes the fun part." You said as you began to unwrap the copper wire. He glanced over his shoulder to watch you with a keen eye.

"This isn't some like weird medieval torture method, right? You soothe me by sweetly brushing out my hair then like... strangle me or something?" He asked. You pat his head as you laughed and grabbed the cutters.

"No silly. I told you it was a surprise though so quit asking questions." You replied as you grabbed the left section of his hair. He sighed and let you do whatever strange thing you planned on doing without any more interruptions. You whistled as you split the section into three smaller parts and began to weave the strands betwixt each other, along with the wire. The braid was coming along well and concealed the wire perfectly. Once you reached the end of his hair, you secured it with the hair tie and marveled at your work.

The braid on the right side didn't take long to finish so you were securing that one in no time. Now all that was left was to shape the braids. You bend the wire down and then back up right at the ends, creating the iconic Pippi Longstocking look you'd been aiming for the entire time. You took a little extra time to smooth them out so they looked just right. Finally, you stepped out from behind him to admire your handiwork.

"Are you ready to look?" You excitedly inquired. He immediately stood up and walked to the mirror in his bedroom. He saw himself as soon as he walked in and his eyes went wide. He rushed closer to get a better look and the largest, goofiest smile spread across his face.

"What the hell did you do to me, baby?" He asked.

"You don't like it?" You replied, tilting your head. He turned toward you and laughed.

"Like it? I love it!" He replied, wrapping his arms around your waist and spinning you around. You laughed as he did so, patting his shoulders until he set you down. He turned back to look at himself in the mirror again.

"Seriously, what made you think of this?" He asked, admiring the braids. You shrugged.

"Honestly, I don't know. I just thought it'd look really cute on you." You replied. He chuckled and leaned in to kiss your cheek.

"Well, I didn't disappoint, did I?" He asked, placing his hands underneath his chin and slowly blinking. Your face grew warm with blush as you admired his face.

"How could you ever disappoint me Eddie Longstocking?"

"Now that has quite the ring to it, doesn't it?"

"Why yes, yes it does."
