Richie glanced at Stan and wasn't surprised to see him staring at you. This had been going on for God knows how long. Stan would stare at you whenever and wherever he could and as soon as anyone said anything, he would deny it. He simply happened to be "staring in that direction". They all knew he had feelings for you, he was just too stubborn to admit it. Richie leaned over in his chair so he was level with Stan's ear.

"They sure look hot today, don't they Stan?" Richie whispered. Stan shifted and looked at Richie before turning to the blackboard.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He whispered back. Richie scoffed.

"Sure."

Stan subconsciously glanced at you again. He saw (Fr/n), one of your close friends, leaning over your shoulder and laughing. Stan let his eyebrows furrow. He quickly stared at the board after seeing (Fr/n) glance at him. Orion. Focus on Orion.

"I think he was looking at you," (Fr/n) whispered in your ear. You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah right. And even if he was, I wouldn't care." You replied. (Fr/n) laughed.

"Are you kidding me? You've had a major crush on him since the 5th grade!" He said.

"Nope. I have no idea what you're talking about (Fr/n)." You said and looked back at the board.

"Right."

You sighed and glanced at Stan. He was staring at the board, clearly concentrated on the constellations portrayed. One day, not paying attention in class would come back to bite you in the ass.

"Now everyone listen for your partners." The teacher said. You looked at him, fear flooding your features.

"Partners? Partners for what?" You asked, a bit louder than you had intended. There were several snickers as your teacher rolled his eyes.

"Stanley, since you're (Y/n)'s partner, you get the pleasure of explaining the project." He said. You were suddenly even more frightened than before. Not only did you not know what you were partnering up for, but your partner was going to be Stanley Uris. The boy you "totally" don't have a crush on. You groaned and put your head in your hands. Apparently, the day of ass biting was today.

"Look man. I don't care if you don't want to talk to them. You have to. How else are you gonna be able to do the project?" Richie said to Stan, who was standing at the end of the hallway staring at you putting your books in your locker. Stan knew he was right but didn't do anything. Richie looked at Stan, who clearly had no intent on moving. Richie groaned before shoving him as hard as he could so he was practically stumbling down the hallway. The loud noise caught your attention and you saw Stan look over his shoulder and glare at Richie. He straightened his posture and made his way over to you.

"Hey (Y/n). I was just wondering if you were gonna come to my house after school to work on the project." He said, hiding his nervousness quite well. You gave him a confused look before remembering what happened in science.

"Oh right. Um... What was that for again?" You asked with an awkward laugh. He cleared his throat.

"We're supposed to write a joint essay and draw at least six constellations." He replied. You nodded before scratching the back of your neck.

"Alright well... Just um... Do you uh... Do you know your address?" You asked, fumbling over your words. He nodded and grabbed a pen from his pocket. He went to unzip his backpack but you held out your arm. He raised his eyebrows.

"Just write it on my arm. It's easier." You replied. He stared for a second before tentatively grabbing your wrist. When he did, there was a small spark. Like when you go down the slide and touch that metal part, but more... Pleasant. He didn't seem to feel it though, so you kept still as the cool ink ran across your skin. He finished and you slowly read over it.

"Alright. I'll be over about an hour after school, kay?" You asked with a small smile. He turned away with nothing more than a nod and you couldn't help but let your smile drop.

It had been about an hour after school and you were slowly walking to Stan's house. Your stomach was involuntarily doing backflips and you felt your knees become slightly weak. There it is. You swallowed the lump in your throat and quietly rapped your knuckles on the door. It took a few moments but the large door finally opened and you were greeted with a completely average (code for extremely cute) looking curly headed boy.

"Hi." He said and stepped away from the door, giving you room to walk in. You stepped in and saw him lock his door.

"My room is right there." He said and pointed up the stairs. You nodded and began to walk up, him trailing behind ever so slightly. It was awkwardly silent as he opened the door. When he did, you walked in slowly. He cracked the door behind him as you looked around his room. There was a bookshelf that was filled to the brim, an immaculate bed, and a window seat with a pair of binoculars hanging next to it.

"Bird guy, huh?" You asked. He looked at you with a cocked eyebrow.

"The books. They're all about birds. Plus the binoculars and the window that overlooks the trees." You replied. He gave a small smile before shrugging.

"Just a hobby I've picked up over the years I guess." He said. You could feel your heart swell as he smiled. He didn't do it very often. Not that you noticed. You furrowed your eyebrows.

"God, I'm so stubborn." You said, more to yourself.

"What do you mean?" He asked. You looked at him and sighed. Time to cut the bull shit (Y/n).

"I mean, I've been telling myself for three years now that I don't like you but I'm just lying to myself." You said and rubbed your closed eyes.

"You like me?" He questioned.

"Yes, Stanley. I've been pretending that I don't like you. Or your stupid curly hair. Or your stupid brown eyes. Or your stupid collared shirts. I've been stupidly pretending that I don't love you." You said. He was staring at you. You could tell. Staring and thinking of a way to reject you.

You felt that same spark feeling you had felt on your hand. You opened your eyes and saw him holding it. You looked up and he was staring at you. He tilted his head and gave you a smile.

"If it makes you feel better, I've been lying to myself too."

"About?"

"Loving you."
