"Hindi naman po, Mommy," I answered.

Actually, we're very busy but I won't say that because that might make her leave early. Ngayon niya lang ako binisita at nakakagaan ng pakiramdan ang makita siya lalo na dahil pagod na pagod ang pakiramdam ko.

Three cups of coffee and cakes was served on our table. So, may hinihintay pa pala kami? I got thrilled thinking it would be Daddy.

Maayos naman ang naging pagkikita namin kahapon sa party. Maybe they realized we should have some time together as a family? Thinking about it made me smile while sipping on my own coffee.

"Di na po ako nakapagpaalam kagabi. Di ko na kasi ulit kayo nakita ni Daddy."

She sip on her coffee. "Ah, yes. I got tired early so we got home."

I nodded at her response. I don't know how to ask her why she's here without being awkward.

"How's my apo, hija?"

Nabuhayan ako sa tanong ni Mommy. "Mabuti naman po. He's learning to speak more words each day," excited kong sabi. "He would be happy if you will visit him sometime... 'pag hindi lang po kayo busy."

"Sure, hija. Medyo madami lang kaming inaasikaso ngayon ng daddy mo."

That disappoints me a bit but I let it not show on my face. Maybe I just need to take things slowly. Malaking bagay na nga para sa akin ang pagpunta niya dito ngayon.

"Si Daddy po ba, kasama n'yo?" tanong ko dahil pangtatlong tao ang in-order niyang pagkain.

"No, hija. Naggogolf siya ngayon. Actually, doon na din ako didiretso after this," ani Mommy.

Oh. I was wrong.

"By the way, the reason why I'm here is because of this," inilapag ni Mommy ang isang envelope.

Kinuha ko iyon at binasa. I didn't understand everything but from what I can understand, it's about the expansion of our small hotel.

"Your father and I have been working on that since last year. Matatagalan pa sana bago mangyari, but we saw a potential partner that can help us so it can be done this year or early next year," Mommy explained.

I'm happy to know that our business is doing well. But they don't let me meddle with it so I'm a little confuse why she's showing this to me now.

Mommy noticed my silence. "And, anak... your dad also wants you to be involed in the management starting from now on. Afterall, this is all for you," Mommy added.

Naibaba ko ang papeles na ipinakita sa akin ni Mommy. Nalulula ako sa mga sinasabi niya. Napakalaking bagay para sa akin ang malamang si Daddy mismo ang nagsabi na gusto niyang sumali na ako sa pagmamanage ng hotel namin. Ito na ba ang simula ng pagkakaroon namin ng magandang relasyon sa isa't isa?

"Of course, Mommy. I would love to help! Thank you po!"

Lumaki din ang ngiti ni Mommy. "I know that that is new to you, that's why I asked someone to help you," Mommy said and as if on cue Paulo Guttierez entered the café vibrantly.

He's wearing a pair of maroon tuxedo. Pormal na pormal ang dating niya.

Napatayo ako ng makalapit siya. Siya ang tinutukoy ni Mommy na tutulong sa akin? Gulat akong napatingin kay Mommy na halatang inaasahan ang pagdating ni Paulo at ngayon ay todo ngiti na siya.

"Good day, Mrs. Amoroso and Amanda," bati niya.

Lumapit din siya sa akin para sa isang friendly kiss at magalang naman siyang bumaling kay Mommy.
