"Paati, I have asked Senthil to tutor me in Tamil and other subjects."

"I still can't believe your mother never taught you to read Tamil."

I rolled my eyes, paati always found something to complain about my mother. I am going to be cross-eyed soon, all I seem to do here is roll my eyes.

"Tamil is not just a language, it's our soul."

I tried hard not to roll my eyes again, this was what my Tamil teacher lectured us as well.

A boy in my class complimented me that I was breathtaking as Tamil, literally what is that even supposed to mean! I got a zero! Was he complimenting me or insulting me?

Mercifully Saranya came and paati's focus shifted from me to her. I promised Olive I would facetime her before getting out of my school uniform, I couldn't do that in the morning as it was midnight for her.

"Ooooh, my Gooood!" Olive said in a perfect imitation of Janice from Friends.

"Hi Janice"

She gave the iconic nasal laugh. "Anu, you look like a kindergartener."

"Hahaha!"

"Wait! Is that you Anu!" It was Aarav.

"What are you doing in Olive's house at 8 in the morning?"

Olivia gave me a sheepish grin.

"How did you manage it?"

"Aadhya!" both Olivia and Aarav said in unison.

"Wait, What?"

"Aadhya walking in on us is the best thing that has happened to us."

"Wait, What?"

"She been helping us," said Olivia

"Wait, What?" this is all I could articulate at the moment.

"She is quite resourceful and my mom buys all her lies without a question," chimed Aarav.

"Wait! Is the world coming to an end? Didn't you complain just last week about her? And you Aarav, you were complaining about her your whole life."

"Turns out we are wrong about her, she is an angel."

With Aadhya now being an angel, clearly, my friends have gone looney. Or I am dead and being punished in hell.

"Anu, I got to run, I will let you girls catch up," Aarav left bidding a thoroughly non-verbal goodbye to Olivia.

"How was school?"

"I got a zero and people warmed up to me a little."

"Did you get a chance to bite Senthil?"

"Olive!!"

"What! I know you! Are you seriously telling me you haven't made any moves?"

"No! Sai told me to keep a low profile and I am doing just that."

"It's hard to believe! Last week, Senthil was all you rambled about!"

"No, I didn't."

"Just admit it!"

"I have no plans on seducing Senthil"

I heard someone clear his throat, I had left my doors open and Senthil was standing there looking at the floor with a sheepish grin. God! Please open the earth and just swallow me.

"Senthil, just a minute." I hung Olivia without saying goodbye, headed into the bathroom to change out of my uniform. I was cherry red when I looked in the mirror. I splashed some water in my face, which did nothing to ease my embarrassment. Cursing I headed out.

Life is much easier in romance novels; the heroine enters a room, a dashing prince waits for her; at the right time she would slip just within arms reach of the prince; he prevents her fall, eyes meet, their breaths will hitch, and love sparkles. Happily ever after begins.

Anyways, reality rather sucks! I was no heroine, and Senthil was not a dashing prince. Saranya must have mopped the floor when I wasn't there, I wasn't expecting a damp floor.

I slipped, everything went according to plan. Not my plan though! I told you I have no intention of seducing Senthil. I slipped, the angle of my fall with all trigonometric equations should have taken me directly to Senthil, to be more precise, directly to his chest.

"Arrgh" I let out an inhuman grunt as I landed face down on the floor. Did he just step back and let me fall? To my surprise, Senthil too let out an inhuman grunt.

I looked up and saw him in all his male glory! I didn't even have time to feel embarrassed with all the ogling I was doing. He bent down and yanked his trousers up.

Why in God's name would he do this! There is something called underwear, which as the name clearly states should be worn under. Why do you have to go commando, today of all day!

You can guess what happened next, he took his bags and ran away! So much for not planning to seduce him.
