"the planned accident."

Hayden's POV

We made it outside as we stood right in front of the massive pool. I followed the gaze of the blonde man beside me as my eyes capture something I wish they wouldn't.

I could feel my eyes go wider as the shrieking from the people around kept getting quieter that's because I could barely focus on anyone or anything around but...

...Jessica!

NO

I could see her sunk in the pool. Her hand tied behind her back, her eyes covered with a cloth. I blinked rapidly to make sure this was not one of my crazy dreams.

It's actually happening.

Without a second I ran and jumped right into the pool.

I swam at the end and the depth kept getting deeper.

Once I was few feet from her I held her waist and pulled her closer. I untied the cloth from her eyes and released her hands from the rope.

She breathed out loudly, as she leaned on me as if, all the energy in her has been sucked out.

I held her carefully as I carried her in my arms. I walked out of the pool.

I and Jake rushed her to the hospital Archie was.

I asked my sister to find her parents and inform them.

The doctor rushed Jess into ER.

The strong sense of deja vu hit me.

I kept marching in the corridor restlessly.

An old lady with short red hair and a man with grey hair, probably Jess's parents walked towards us.

Her mom was crying hysterically. while her dad looked miserable.

"How did this happened?" He asked, the cracking in his voice made my heart sunk a bit.

"I don't know sir, I think only Jess can tell that." I managed to say without making them feel bad.

He took the closest seat, his wife still crying as she held the Emergency room door.

I went ahead and placed my hand over her back, giving her a small comfort rub. She leaned towards me as she cried out more.

The fact I hate about myself is, not knowing how to console someone who is crying.

"I just lost my son three years from now, I can't, I don't want to lose my only......daughter." She cried. Making my heartbreak for her even more.

How I wish my Mom would be here. She knows what to say on time like these, she's good with words. She knows exactly what people need to hear. I'm sure she would be a great support to Jessi's parents right now.

While me, I'm a useless person ever. I hate how helpless I feel right now.

"She will be alright, she's a strong girl, she can fight back some water." Is all I managed to say.

The doctor walked out as I brought some water for Jess's parents.

We all walked towards him.

I hope it's good news. I crossed my fingers in my pockets. Jessica better be fine.

"She's out of danger now." The doctor informed with a smile. I breathed out loudly in relief and so did everyone.

I thanked the doctor, I also thanked God mentally.

"There was a large amount of water entered in her lungs, which made her breathing irregular but now it's stable, and she hasn't revived yet. We'll have to wait till morning." He explained further. Her mom sobbed but looked relieved.

"Thanks for bringing her here, we don't know how to show you how much thankful we are." Her dad said as he hold his hands together in front of me.

"She's my friend now, I've done absolutely nothing but something any friend would do." I assured him.

"We'll be here, you can go change and have some rest or you will catch cold son." Jess's mom said as she examine my wet clothes.

I nodded before giving her a small side hug. "Thanks again." She said with a huge heartwarming grin.

"Don't mention it." I let her know.

"Bro, this doesn't seem like an accident to me." Jake said as we sat in the car. His eyes were still fixed on the road.

"Same, she was fucking tied and blindfolded. Any wise person can tell this isn't an accident. But why would someone purposefully try to hurt her?"

"More like kill her." Jake corrected me.

Yes, she would have easily got killed in this. Someone drowned her. But why?

"Maybe we could check CCTV." The idea popped in my head.

"Right, there must be the cams." He agreed to it.
