They had been in Andy's car for about two hours now, and no one had said a word since the bustling sounds of London had since faded, leaving a chilly silence that consumed her thoughts. Eurielle didn't bother asking where they were going, but she did occasionally glance over to her father who was behind the wheel.
He seemed tenser than usual, well that was an understatment. His cloudy eyes would often flicker over to the rear view mirror as if he were checking to see if they were being followed. Hell, maybe they were.
Eurielle knew they were going West, but that was it. Theo stayed looking out the window, probably wondering what he was going to do.He had decided to stay with Eurielle and the Order, but would he follow her plan to join the Order?
The goal the mystery woman had given her was simple, yet she couldn't bear to say it out loud. In order to save him, she would have to risk her life, risk the exposure of her newfound secret.
Eurielle hadn't told a soul about her dreams.
The teen touched the chain that rested behind her neck and traced it with her finger. The metal crow was tucked into her shirt away from view, and just like her thoughts, it weighed heavy on her heart.
Would she and Fred be able to reconnect? Why was it that the thought of him kissing her no longer made her heart flutter but the idea of him with someone else caused her so much grief?
Eurielle closed her eyes and thought back to their first kiss and couldn't help the smile that pressed against her fist as she sat against the door while staring out the window. She loved how she could be vulnerable with him around, she could be soft and loving.
She missed the way his long fingers would play with her hair. She longed to see that goofy exterior melt away and be replaced by that caring doe-eyed boy she knew all too well. And the fact that he was only like that for her made her heart swell.
She missed him being hers.
She didn't know when she had fallen asleep, but when she awoke she had a nice view of the coast. Eurielle looked over to see Theo fast asleep and her mother and father holding hands as he drove.
She stared at the clasped hands and felt a lump form in her throat, how would it have been to be raised by the two of them? To have Lily and James Potter as an aunt and uncle?
How would her elementary school teacher react when instead of her distinguished and well-mannered grandfather turning up for a parent-teacher conference, it was, instead, a leather laden and tattooed 20 something with long hair and a playful spark in his eye.
Instead of leaving the country every holiday, would they have been at her parents' house? All of them sat at a dining table with the Potters, Remus, maybe even Ron and the Weasleys.
Would James Potter have called her Ellie and kissed her cheek, telling her about how big she had gotten and how much she was like her parents? Would Lily Potter take her shopping and tease Harry with her about his crush on Ginny?
She never got to run to their bed when she had a nightmare, her mother never was able to soothe her, and her father was never able to hold her until she went back to sleep.
She couldn't keep thinking about these things, it made her bitter.
The car eventually came to a stop and Eurielle woke up Theo. The teen got out of the car and walked over to help Theo carry some bags. They were parked a little ways away from an old cottage on the beach. It was almost whimsical with its stony exterior and shell shingles.
" Welcome!" rang a familiar voice from across the beach. Eurielle's heart skipped and a large smile spread across her face.
" Fleur!" she shouted, throwing what bags she had into Theo's arms causing him to buckle at the knees and let out a disgruntled curse.
