Eurielle watched as the neon green cloud formed into a skull and gasped when a serpent emerged from its mouth. It was the dark mark that was looming overhead. She was paralyzed with fear and somehow the dark sky seemed even more so and the once bright stars were no longer there.

And just like that, the world seemed to fall away.

Eurielle and Theodore shared a panic-stricken look and before she could even take a breath she grabbed his hand and bolted. She led the Slytherin down corridor after corridor, did no one know of the attack? Did no one see the dark mark? Eurielle's brain was going a mile a minute as she thought of what to do.

Everyone was at dinner right now so it made sense no one had done anything. It couldn't have been more than a minute since she and Theo saw the mark unravel into the night sky, but there was also the chance others were wondering and the castle just as they had been. She needed to think quickly.

" Go back to your dorm, if people see us together you'd get more than just trouble," she said to him after halting to a stop right outside of the Great Hall, " I'm going to warn the others,"

With a hesitant look toward the hall, he nodded, " Are you-,"

" Go!" she barked before spinning around on her heel and hauling ass to the large doors. Her heart was hammering in her chest as the sound of her classmates' voices caressed her ears, she was absolutely terrified. She reached the doors and without a second thought she yelled over them all, " Deatheaters!"

Everyone turned towards her and within a millisecond the hall was silent.

McGonagall stood, her face an ashen color and her usual beady eyes wide, " Ms. Black what is the meaning-!"

" The Dark Mark is over the astronomy tower," she said in a rush," We need to get everyone to a safe place, now!"

She couldn't exactly be subtle, could she? If she were to do that people would have blown off the whole thing and dragged themselves back to their common rooms with no urgency whatsoever. Before she knew it McGonagall had mobilized the prefects and teachers in an instant.

Students were being rushed out of the hall and Eurielle ran over to where Ron and Hermione were rounding up fourth years, " I'm going to go to the second and third floor to make sure there isn't anyone in the library or bathroom,"

Hermione gaped at her, " Not alone you're not-!"

" I don't have time to argue with you Hermione, I'm going-,"

" I'll go,"

The three turned to Ginny. She had her wand gripped tightly in her hand and her face was set into one of determination, " C'mon we need to hurry before death eaters start really storming the castle," she sighed before walking past Ron.

The redhead grabbed his sister's wrist, " Are you mad?!" he yelled, " There's no way I'm letting you go,"

Eurielle frowned, " You don't need to worry about her Ron," she said softly, knowing he was genuinely worried for his little sister, " I've got her back and she damn well better have mine,"

The Ravenclaw sent the younger teen and small smile and she returned it, " Let's go, Black,"

The two girls raced up the steps and down the empty corridors, watching as portraits ran to other paintings telling one another the news. Luckily there had only been a snogging couple in an abandoned classroom and after Ginny screamed at them they hauled ass to their common room.

" Okay we should get back," said Ginny, her brown eyes looking up and down the hallway. Eurielle only nodded.

The two were smart enough to be on guard with their wand drawn, prepared to send a hex at anyone who dared to come after them. Suddenly there was a loud bang that was too close for comfort and the sound of tumbling stone.
