It had been a day after Harry and company infiltrated the Ministry and only a few hours since they received a Patronus from Kingsley, notifying them of the muggle-borns the trio had freed from the clutches of the stubby fingered Dolores Umbridge.
She, Theodore, the twins, and Lee were assigned to help out at one of the refugee camps near the Welsh border. They had to move fast before death eaters found where the escapees were being held and threw them all into Azkaban.
The forest was quite thick, and the gray sky added to the ambiance of the tranquil wood. As it was later in the day, crickets had begun to chirp, and the birds were settled in their chosen tree.
They had all apparated alongside Kingsley, as they had never been, " Alright, you four, begin placing every protection charm along the assigned borders, then come back to the main site in an hour; Eurielle, you're in charge,"
Lee and George scoffed, " Why is she in charge?" asked Lee.
" I'm looking at two dropouts, an almost twenty-year-old man who I saw try to charm his bag up the stairs only for it to burst into flames, and a deatheater's son- no offense,"
Theodore shrugged," Eh,"
" Eurielle excels in charms. If it's not up to her standards, then make it better. if you can't, start folding blankets,"
And with that, Kingsley left with a swish of his robes. The four looked at each other before getting to work. There wasn't much talk as they focused on the task at hand, a couple of pointers and questions here and there.
About 45 minutes in, Theodore shared a look with Lee and George, " Can you two come help me with the other side, near the pond?" he asked casually, his eyes darting between Fred and Eurielle then back to the two men.
It clicked, and they began to nod fervently, " ' Course, Theo mate!" quipped Lee with a shit-eating grin.
Fred sent the three a death glare while Eurielle paid them no mind, " Well, we'll be back, Freddie," sighed George with a wicked smile.
Fred huffed as the trio disappeared. He turned to Eurielle, who was pulling her thick hair up into a ponytail. Fred looked at her clear slender neck and felt a chill creep up his spine. If he ever found that asshole, he'd fucking kill him.
" They expecting us to snog?" she asked, looking over at him.
He couldn't help but laugh, " Dunno," he said, stepping closer to her, watching how she subconsciously tensed up. Fred didn't comment on it.
" How have lessons been going with my dear sister-in-law?" he asked as he placed another charm over hers.
Eurielle snorted, " It would be better if Theo and Fleur weren't platonic soulmates,"
Fred chuckled, " Y'know that doesn't surprise me the least bit, y'know if you want, I could give you more personal attention,"
Eurielle stopped what she was doing and sent him an incredulous look. It only took a second before Fred turned beet red, " NO!" he shouted, " That sounded- no, not like that-"
He was cut off by her laughter. Eurielled clutched her stomach and closed her eyes as she doubled over in laughter. The sight made Fred's stomach do flips.
God, she was beautiful.
Her stormy eyes opened once more, full of mirth, " Yeah, that sounds fun Freddie," she said, lending her arm out to him. Eurielle was no longer tense.
Fred cleared his throat, " It'd be my pleasure," he said in an exaggerated posh accent. He took her arm and led her back over to the campsite, where the three boys sat folding blankets under the watchful eye of Kingsley.
