Theodore woke from his sleep with a start. And with drooping eyes, he glanced over at where Eurielle's bed was only to find it empty. His stomach soured; something didn't feel right, this was the second night in a row he had woken up, and she wasn't there. He rose out of bed slowly, wincing with every creak the old springs made. He treaded lightly to the door and opened it, immediately seeing a thin ray of light that stretched across the wooden floor. He knew it was from the bathroom but if she had been simply relieving herself, she would have closed it all the way, right?
He slipped out into the hallway, crept over to the door, and listened for any movement, there was none. What the hell was she doing?
He peaked into the bathroom to see her face in her hands as she sat on the edge of the tub. Eurielle gradually rocked herself back and forth, and that was when he heard the shuddering breaths and noticed how hard she pressed her fingers into her face.
Theodore looked away but didn't move away from the door, " It's okay. . ." he heard her whisper to herself, " You're okay,"
He pursed his lips, and against his better judgment, he knocked on the door and opened it. Eurielle shot to her feet and stared at him with bloodshot eyes, " Theo! Wh-What the hell?!" she sputtered.
" What's wrong?" he asked, ignoring her question," You've been coming in here the past few nights, so come out with it," he sighed, leaning against the sink.
Eurielle rolled her eyes and shrugged, " It's stupid. . ."
" It's something that didn't even happen, I mean,"
He raised a dark brow, " Something that didn't even happen?" he repeated, " I don't believe you. You wouldn't cry over something that didn't really bother you,"
Eurielle huffed, " I just feel gross, I guess,"
They held each other's gaze for a moment before Theo looked away, " If you want me to follow you around, then you're going to need to be honest with me," he said before turning to leave.
Eurielle scowled, " I never forced you," she hissed.
" Yeah, you're right," he replied, still not turning around.
Eurielle could have stomped her foot. Why the hell did the idea of him being upset with her bother her so much, " Fine, you bastard, I'll tell you what's wrong," she said, walking past him and back into the room they shared.
He couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he followed her. She sat herself down on her bed, and he followed suit. "It happened over the summer," she began, " I was upset and ran out- next thing I know, I'm with a bunch of muggles drinking, and one of them tries to. . ."
She couldn't say it. She actually couldn't say it. Why the hell couldn't she say it? It didn't even happen. Why couldn't she say it?
" He. . . y'know," She couldn't say it.
Theo's blue eyes grew large, " He tried to what Eurielle?" he whispered.
Her eyes began to sting as she fought off the tears that threatened to flow, " H-He-," She couldn't breathe. All of the sudden she could feel the cold bathroon tile pressed against knees. She felt the grip on her shoulder and heard his words echo in her ear.
Those vile disgusting words that were laced with a dark promise and had an air of malevolent power. She was forced to face the reality that if she had been a muggle she wouldn't have gotten away that night.
What would he have done to her after he was finished.
She couldn't help the sobs that shook her body. Eurielle gasped for air as she allowed Theo to wrap his arms around her and pull her to his chest. She could hear his heart hammering against his chest.
