Eurielle sat next to Hermione as they watched Ron land a punch right on Demelza's jaw. The brunette's hand flew to her mouth as she gasped, and Eurielle rolled her eyes in annoyance. His inconsistency was so damn annoying, he really needed to build up some confidence, but how?
"It was an accident, I'm sorry, Demelza, really sorry!" Ron shouted after her as she zigzagged back to the ground, dripping blood everywhere. "I just —"
" Panicked," huffed Ginny as she examined the blonde's fat lip, "You prat, Ron, look at the state of her!"
"I can fix that," said Harry, landing beside the two girls, pointing his wand at Demelza's mouth, and saying "Episkey." "And Ginny, don't call Ron a prat, you're not the Captain of this team —"
"Well, you seemed too busy to call him a prat and I thought someone should,"
Eurielle let out a chuckle and reclined on the bleachers, her hands going behind her neck as she watched the scene play out below, " So are you going to Slughorn's party?" she asked Hermione.
The witch let out a sigh before nodding, " Yes... ,"
Eurielle raised an eyebrow, " But?"
Hermione squirmed under the Ravenclaw's state and put her books back in her bag, " I don't have a date. . ."
" Have you asked Ron?"
She shrugged and stood, " I was going to but he had to be a git about the whole thing so I ended up not bothering,"
Eurielle nodded as she watched the Gryffindors set off into the sky again, " Honestly Mione," she huffed before standing as well and slinging her bag over her shoulder, " It's obvious you fancy him, why not just suck it up and ask him out,"
The brunette turned a brilliant shade of red and shook her head vigorously, " N-No I don't!" she said shrilly, " What a ridiculous thing to imply!"
" Oh. My. God, forget it," groaned Eurielle, dragging a hand over her face and spinning around on her heel, " See you at dinner!" she called over her shoulder.
-
Eurielle was walking towards Ravenclaw tower from the library when she heard a very familiar voice raving down the hallway, " Harry's snogged Cho Chang!" shouted Ginny, who sounded close to tears now. "And Hermione snogged Viktor Krum, and God knows how many people Ellie's been with! It's only you who acts like it's something disgusting, Ron, and that's because you've got about as much experience as a twelve-year-old!"
Eurielle stopped in her tracks as she heard thundering footsteps coming her way and soon a red-faced and teary-eyed Ginny was in her presence. She halted and stared up at Eurielle with wide eyes.
The Ravenclaw frowned and tilted her head, " Are you alright, Ginny?"
That was all it took for the redhead's bottom lip to begin trembling and her diving towards Eurielle with open arms. Shocked, Eurielle hugged the younger girl and her quick mind went to work as to what the fight had been about.
" I know how it feels when people make you out to be some kind of harlot just because you have experience, what's important is you know you're not, and that the people around you know it as well,"
Ginny let out a pitful sob and shook her head, " But Ron thinks I am," she sniffed, " And it's bloody infuriating,"
Eurielle hugged her tighter, " Don't worry about him," Her tone was soft but her face was deadly.
-
" Will you do it Ms. Black?" asked Professor McGonagall with sharp eyes and pursed lips.
Eurielle sat straight and took a sip of tea, " My only regret is I will never be as entertaining as our dear departed Lee Jordan," the dark-haired girl bowed her head as if in prayer.
