" Fifthteen years. . ." he whispered.
Eurielle sent her cousin an uneasy smile before interlocking arms with him, " I'm glad you're spending Christmas with us Eddy," she said softly before looking to Kreacher who was begrudgingly taking Edwin's luggage up the stairs while mumbling under his breath all the while.
Eurielle led the older man into the living room where her grandfather sat reading a book in his portrait, not bothering to greet the two. Edwin sat down on the old sofa and looked around the room, " It's very . . . well it's not homey like I'm used to," he said with a frown.
Before she could say anything there was a low chuckle from the doorway, " Really? I thought the demonic gargoyles were welcoming,"
A wide smile stretched across Edwin's tan face. He stood up and walked over to her father," Sirius!" he said before enveloping his cousin in law in a tight embrace, " When Auntie Lin told us you were innocent and Evelyn was out of the hospital I-I," his voice cracked and tears spilled from his eyes.
Edwin laughed through his tears and quickly wiped them away, " I was so damn happy!" he chuckled.
Sirius patted him on the back, " I'm glad you're here, but with Evelyn you . . ."
Eurielle watched the interaction with a sad smile, if only they could all get back together under different circumstances. She stood and allowed the two men to catch up before heading upstairs where her room was.
After the Christmas Party she had allowed Nott to take her back to her dorm but right as he turned the corner she raced toward Gryffindor Tower where she saw Harry walking back alone.
He told her of what he had overheard and then asked about Nott. She reassured him they didn't have to worry about him. Eurielle wasn't the kind of person to just out somebody so she put off the topic.
They had all been invited over to the Weasley's for Christmas Dinner and for a moment she hadn't been sure if she wanted to go. Fred was there after all but then that 'not caring about anything' all of the sudden took over- so she agreed.

Evelyn scanned the herbs on the page before frowning, she had really found this interesting? I mean it was aesthetically pleasing she supposed but eh. She closed the book before looking out the window, her mind drifting to Albus Dumbledore.
But a moment later the door opened to reveal a familiar looking man with dark brown hair, tan skin, and chocolate brown eyes- Evelyn's eyes.
" Good mornin'," he said kindly, his accent was rich and had a bit of a twang.
He reminded her of someone from Evelyn's childhood. From the time where she wasn't shoved into the corner.
He came in with a soft smile, " Do you mind if I come in?"
She frowned and looked at him with a raised eyebrow, " Seeing as you're already in I suppose you might as well," she teased, " Have a seat, and you are?"
" Edward," he said with a grin, " Edward Peterson,"
He looked at her in a way that made her think he was telling a joke, one that she unfortunately didn't get.
Evelyn sat down across from him, a frown still on her face, " You're lying," she said quietly to herself.
Edward frowned, " Sorry?" he asked, leaning a little closer.
Evelyn shook her head, " Nothing, Why are you here again?" she asked before grabbing a small bell from the coffee table and ringing it, " Kreacher please bring us some coffee,"
