July 10th, 1997

22 Days until the plan goes down.

Have you ever been sick and for some reason you had the urge to just start cleaning and do all of your school assignments? Ever been hurt and tried picking yourself up and trying to do all the shit you couldn't do? It had never made sense to Eurielle why people were like that, herself included.

Maybe it was the fact you felt helpless and you wanted to pretend you were completely capable of mowing the lawn and cleaning the entire house. It was the dumbest logical thing she had ever heard of.

So when she woke up the next morning and jumped out of bed and into the shower. She surprised not only herself but her parents who had been hosting order meetings every few nights while she was hauled up in her room. She was tired of the bullshit and the pity parties.

She had a plan and she intended for it to work.

She put on some casual clothes and wrote a letter to Ginny, telling her to get her ass over to Grimmauld Place.

Eurielle walked into the kitchen to see her father with a rather frilly apron on and her mother sitting on a stool reading the paper while practically chugging a mug of coffee. Sirius was flipping a lumpy pancake when he noticed her and immediately his eyes lit up.

Evelyn seemed to have all her attention on the prophet and her pearly white teeth were digging into her rosy bottom lip as her russet eyes slid across the paper, " Bernard, a clerk who worked in Borgin and Burkes, found him dead last night," she said in an annoyed tone, " They must've tried to rob Borgin of something important, you think - Oh Ellie!" she said, seemingly startled.

Eurielle forced a smile onto her face, " Hi," she said, taking a seat at the table, " Ginny should be here soon, hope that's fine,"

Her parents shared an almost disappointed look, " Oh we were hoping to take you out to the country today, near nana and papa's?" said her mother, folding the paper and sitting it on the counter.

The teen shook her head, " Actually, I think the two of you should go on your own. . . I mean you haven't left the house and all you've been doing is- well-," she gestured to the paper with a pointed look on her face.

Their faces soured, " I don't know-,"

" You can have Dora and Lupin here if need be," sighed Eurielle, " I'm not going to run off again, I've learned my lesson, swear,"

Once again they shared a look that was almost longing? Eurielle felt her heart warm slightly at the fact they wanted to spend time together, glad they were becoming more comfortable around one another.

" Fine," said Sirius in a matter of a fact manner, " But if you decide to go off like some kind of daft idiot you're going to your nana's and staying there for the rest of the Summer,"

Eurielle shrugged, " Fair,"

And with a wink he attempted to flip the pancake in the pan but it ended up flopping on to the floor.

After Ginny arrived Sirius and Evelyn left, casting any protection spells they could think of over the house. As soon as the door closed Ginny was on top of Eurielle, sounding very much like Mrs. Weasley.

" WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!" she roared, " ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID, WE WERE ALL WORRIED SICK!"

" GOOD GOD WITH YOU THERE'S NO TELLING WHAT YOU WERE UP TO-,"

" I got drunk and hexed a muggle,"

Ginny stopped raving and her jaw practically hit the floor," Why would-,"

" He was trying to shag me," she said with a shrug, trying to blow it off like it was no big deal but a shiver traveled down her spine, " I took a few hits and then apparated to a street nearby, Fred found me and brought me back here,"

The redhead blinked and her pale face turned redder with every passing second, " WHERE DOES THIS CUNT LIVE?!" she screamed, " WHAT'S HIS NAME-?!"

Eurielle put her hand up and with a small smile said, " Unimportant but I need to tell you something,"

-

She had been hesitant to let Eurielle stay at Grimmauld alone but after dome reassurance from Sirius she relaxed. They weren't going to be gone long and besides, Ginny wouldn't let her daughter do anything too stupid.

They had apparated northeast of London where the rolling hills of Herefordshire were. Evelyn allowed herself to close her eyes and let the summer breeze blow her hair all around her face, " I didn't realize how much I could miss grass- or just the outside world,"

Sirius took a seat on the grass and nodded, " In Azkaban I was always just sitting on a stone floor that had hay in the corner. When I finally escaped I found a patch of grass, turned into a human and just rolled around for a good hour," he sighed, a smile tugging at his lips, " It sounds sad and hilarious at the same time,"

Evelyn sat next to him and laid her head on his shoulder, " I'll never take anything for granted again, especially having you near me," she whispered, lacing her fingers with his, " After this is all over, I think I want to try again, I mean we're getting on up there but it's not unheard of to have kids at our age. . ."

Sirius sent her a shocked look and she bolted upright, " I mean if you don't want to I understand, but I think Ellie will understand and I just-,"

Before she could finish her sentence Sirius slammed his lips to hers. His tattooed fingers clutching onto her chocolate curls and his other arm wrapping around the small of her back. Evelyn returned the kiss softly and allowed him to press himself closer to her.

Evelyn's arms wrapped around his shoulders as she melted into the long overdue kiss. There had been a few times a kiss had made her feel like she was floating. But this one made it feel like she was being hurled throughout the air, allowing herself to freefall into the hard Earth.

He pulled away for air and a giddy grin was stretched out across his face, " After this is all over, Truelove, I'll give you everything I couldn't give you back then, just say it and it's yours,"

Evelyn felt her lip tremble and a breathy laugh left her as she nodded, " The sentiment's mutual, Black," she whispered, placing another peck on his lips, " We're going to get through this, I promise,"

-

" America?"

Eurielle sighed but nodded, " Yeah. . . and this my dear Gillian is where you come in,"

The younger witch smiled, " Oh God let's hear it then,"

Eurielle explained her plan carefully and in detail, telling her she couldn't tell a soul, including Ron and the others. Ginny listened with a permanent frown on her face, almost reluctant to go through with it.

It wasn't because she was scared of getting into trouble but she thought if her friend could get away she should, but Ginny knew Eurielle better than that. She also knew that if she was in Ravenclaw's place she'd be downright furious.

Theodore Nott stared at the portkey with an anxious expression. His blue eyes wandered toward the calendar on his desk and with a racing heart he grabbed the disguised portkey and stuffed it in his pocket. When he got to London he'd hide it near an entrance to the Ministry, and then he and Eurielle could safely make it to the countryside and then to her supposed safe house.

He had made his decision and there wasn't any turning back now.
