"So what are you two going to do when the homestead gets sold?" Alice asked us as Rosie and I were actually outside in the garden today. It took quite a while for me to get downstairs and outside, but Rosie helped me the whole way.

"I dunno, it's going to be a lot of money that we'll get, though." Rosie said as she picked a flower from nearby. I smiled over at her and watched a smile form on her lips.

"Are you two going to go back to the sea?"

That question actually made me stop and think, Rosie doing the same. I know myself that I would like to go back out there with my ship and crew. But on the flip side, I know Rosie most likely doesn't want any possible harm coming my way. Rosie glanced back at me,

"I don't know, we haven't talked about that yet." She answered Alice's question, basically telling me that we were going to have this conversation soon. Alice seemed to notice the tension quickly rising after asking the question,

"Alright, I'm gonna go find Joan." She said hastily before getting up from her side of the bench and walking towards the home. I sighed as now it was just Rosie and I out here in the garden. Rosie brushed off the dirt from her hands and made her way over to the bench I was sitting on, deciding to sit next to me. We were both silent for a while, both of us just deep in thought. We didn't know how to express our thoughts verbally right now, so we just tried to piece them together in our heads.

"Do you want to go first?" I asked her, looking to my right to see her already looking back at me. She shook her head,

"You can go first."

"But I don't want to." I told her.

"Yeah well neither do I and I get the final say, so you're going first." I rolled my eyes at her reasoning, but didn't bother arguing because stalling this conversation wouldn't do either of us any good.

"Fine," I started, "I would like to go back to the sea eventually; it's where I feel most at home." I said simply. And as expected, Rosie immediately countered,

"And I would like to stay on land and have you by my side. I want to live happily with you somewhere where no one will judge us or threaten us. I want to love you unconditionally to the best of my abilities."

"I understand that, but I've never settled down and like had a 'normal' life. The thought of staying in one place that long is scary to me." I admitted to her quietly. I felt a hand get placed overtop of mine,

"It's not scary, but does that mean you don't want to settle down with me?" Rosie asked me, her voice becoming smaller as I know she only wants to hear one answer to her question.

"I do want to settle down with you!" I answered quickly, "but it scares me. I don't mean like you scare me, even though sometimes you do, but that's not the point. I mean like living peacefully and without worry. I've never experienced that and I don't know if it's right for me. I love to travel and fight, that's why I love being a scavenger. I also love leading people."

Rosie nodded her head at my words, but stayed silent. I can see the way her eyes are jumping around from thing to thing that she's thinking about what to say. There's uncertainty clouding her eyes and I would like to try and get rid of that. I squeezed her hand gently,

"One thing I'm certain about is I want you." A blush creeped up on her cheeks and she just scoffed at me. I chuckled a little and she rolled her eyes,

"Anyway," she sighed out, "how about we make a compromise?" I furrowed my eyebrows at the proposal,

"What do you mean?"

"I mean since you want to still obviously be a caption and I want to settle down, we compromise. For 9 out of the 12 months of a year, you can be home with me and then the other 3, you can be a captain." I pondered the idea and liked the structure of it. But I don't know how much 3 months would get me, I might need 4. But I don't want to leave Rosie that long anyway. She picked up on my inner turmoil and spoke up,
