Alpha Rita's Point Of View

"Leyla!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I watched my daughter fall to the ground. My heart was pounding at the thought of losing her when I just found her. I couldn't ignore the editable. I finally felt the connection, the pull that mother feels to her pup.

Hera had allowed Leyla to fall to the ground slowly, there was no thump of her body. It was almost as if the wind was lulling her into a deep sleep. Her body was sprawled across the forest floor, her hair fanned out, surrounding her like a hallow. I couldn't rip my eyes from the daughter that laid at the feet of Hera.

"Hera, what are you playing at? Leave my daughter alone you bitch!" I shouted.

She tuts and shakes her head, looking at my daughter lying on the floor. I could see that her face held nothing but contempt. "What a terrible mother you are? Abandoning your own child for own survival. Poor child has been through so much." Hera shakes her head.

"I won't ask you again Hera, what are you doing here?" I growled.

"Just giving your child options, the same options I gave you." She shrugged her shoulders. "But you rejected those and look where that has got you? I offered you mercy and you listened to a Goddess who did nothing but rip you away from your family." She sighs.

"We both know that your options do nothing for the people of the kingdom. We both know that you are the cause of all this chaos!" I screamed.

"Now, now, reign that temper of yours." She warned. Her eyes were as stormy and white as when I last saw her. She looks me up and down with a questioning gaze. "I could never understand you. Selene ruined your life, gave you a mate that didn't want you, took away the one person who would have loved you unconditionally. For what?"

"To stop you, you meddling psychotic bitch!" I shouted as I clenched my hands.

"That's not very nice, now is it!" She fake gasps.

"We both know that you are the start of the order, I am not naive nor stupid. You are the person who is meddling in mortal affairs! Just because your petty jealous bitch!" I taunt.

Her gaze hardens, her face starts to scowl at my words, I can see her reaction to my words have caused her some pain. She sees there is truth to what I have just said to her. Selene had previously warned me of Hera's interference. She had always warned me that she was determined to see the fall of her children.

"I would watch your mouth if I were you. I am the Goddess of all God's you are no match for me!" She spits out.

I laugh. "Oh Hera, if you could truly do something to me, you would have already done it. You think I am not prepared? You may be able to manipulate and twist people but you are unable to harm me on mortal grounds." I respond. I feel my feet trying to pull me closer to my daughter. My heart is scared for her, what if she isn't just unconscious, what if she is dead. How could fate be so cruel to me?

"Hmmm you are right, you know how I love a loophole." Hera winked.

"Ah you may find a loophole but I won't allow my daughter become some pawn in your sick game." I said protectively.

"But isn't that what Selene has already done? I mean she has chosen her warriors and I have mine. I simply gave Leyla the chance to join the winning team. I gave you the same offer years ago but you declined. It's a shame, I would have spared your daughter her pain." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Your Order won't win! You know it as well as I do! Why try to use your trickery on my daughter if you were so sure of a win!" I shouted. "You are already outmatched, you won't survive this when you are brought to justice."

"You may have the power behind you Lily but what is power if it doesn't harmoniously come together. You and your mate are both powerful but you both hate each other. You can't possibly work together to survive this war, especially with a daughter who has learned that her parent's didn't want her." Hera manically laughs.

"I will see your descendants in the ground. They won't survive and my daughter will come to know of my love for her. She will come to know the truth against your lies." I spat.

"Ah, so filled with hope. It's a shame that it is a waste. You don't have enough time to rectify what has happened. Not before the war. Maybe in another life you will live with your daughter and precious mate. In this life? I doubt your be alive to see it happen. It's only a matter of time." Hera says as she disappears into the wind.

I quickly run and make my way to Leyla, my eyes quickly hover over her body looking for anything different, any sign that she may be injuries. Her body is unblemished, her head holds no bump or injury as I ran my fingers across her scalp. I push my two fingers to her neck and her pulse is still strong and beating hard. I could see from her chest that she was still breathing.

All I could do was sigh with relief. She is healthy, she was alive and she wan't harmed. I closed my eyes and quickly gathered her in my arms. I carried her bridal style not wanting to let her go. I held her tightly to my chest, I was holding her like I always dreamed. My child was in my arms and I was too excited, too happy to think about anything else.

I pushed through the thick pine trees and dashed through the small pack village as I made my way to the pack house. Reed was the first to great me, his face held a million questions but all I could was shake my head at him. I couldn't bring myself to answer any of his questions. I still had too many of my own.

All I knew was that when Leyla woke she would need answers, she would have questions. All I could hope was that she was willing to listen. I prayed to the Goddess as I laid her on her bed, wishing that she would help me save what was left of the relationship I had with my unknown daughter.
