Chapter 11: Ashwineyy, the Cooker

"What the hell Sivaathmika?"  yelled Ashwin pushing Mika away, thanks to his instincts their
lips just grazed against each other

Mika stumbled a bit, but managed to balance herself.

Her face looked pale as a white sheet showing that she herself was shocked with her actions.

She silently turned to leave,  when Ashwin stopped her.

"I think I deserve an explanation Aathmika, what the hell happened just now?" insisted Ashwin.

Knowing she cannot evade him forever, Mika went and sat on the sofa looking at her finger nails

"Why did you do it Ashwin?" She asked

"Me? What did I do?" He asked back confused

"Taking extra efforts to make me happy at every turn of event and then expecting me take everything light" she replied in flat tone

"I don't understand, I was just trying to be nice to you that is all" replied Ashwin genuinely

"oh! you call this being nice? Being nice is opening the car door for me, not travelling 20 kms in the middle of the night to repair my car and bring it back,  because I felt bad, being nice is buying me a chocolate or a dress not a company just because I lost a job or someone insulted me" she replied looking at him

"After doing all this, how the hell do you expect me not to fall for you, I tried Ashwin, I tried my best not to let my feelings take control, that is why I stopped running with you, sacrificed my morning terrace routine, started taking out of the city gigs even though they drained me completely, made myself scarce as much as I can, I tried everything, but today, after what you did, I just lost. I will definitely not apologize for my actions, I just wish I had more control" she finished

Ashwin looked at her with utter bewilderment and said .

"I am sorry Aathmika, if my intentions mislead you, but I didn't do any of those things you mentioned because I wanted to impress you or .."

"Theriyum, you did it to impress Sivaangi" she intervened

"No, Sivaangi doesn't even know about these things, and you know her better, she is not a person who gets impressed with some grand gesture, all it will take is a yogurt or a chocolate bar or head massage or just devoting my time for her, to impress her. That no expecting , simplistic nature of her is what drew me to her"

"I did it for you because you are every thing I am not and I aspire to be" he replied shocking her

"What?" Asked Mika

"Yes, you chose your own career, you stood by it without your parents help, you grew in it,  achieved in it,  independently and you did all of it without compromising your morals and ethics" he said

"I admire that about you, I almost see myself in you most of the time, that is why I can never see you broken down be it for a car or for your career, I see your loss as hard work and dedication's loss, that is why I interfered, you are my role model Ma" finished Ashwin looking at her

"And regarding your feelings, we can never be together, it won't work at all, we are both alphas, we will become like two swords in a single sheath,  can't happen ma, we will end up tearing each other into pieces.

"Whereas me and Sivaangi we are polar opposites, she completes me, we both bring in things  that lack in other's life, she is the Ying to my Yang, we both together make one full circle." He finished looking at a stunned Mika

She stayed silent for sometime thinking over.

"Thanks for clarifying things to me Ashwin, I won't say my feelings had vanished the moment I heard you, that would be silly, but thanks to the new job, I will be shifting to Mumbai next week. I hope that will clear my head and mind of you, I have to go now, Sivaangi will be back any moment" replied Mika
