"You knew all along, didn't you? So you were ... you were trying to distract me? And about my words giving you hope ... were those a part of the plan too?"

The next day, Park Eunbyul kept following Kim Doyoung like a lost puppy, trying to get him to listen to her. He barely acknowledged her presence, and it was a surprise for their classmates to see the usual no-nonsense student chase their class president, only to be ignored.

"Please, Doyoung. Just one minute! I promise it won't take long."

The male huffed, turning to face her. "Look, Eunbyul, just drop it. Everyone's wondering why you are following me, and it won't be good for you," he explained, crossing his arms over his chest. "Let's just save the trouble for the both of us and pretend everything was just a joke."

"It's not a joke." Eunbyul reached out to hold Doyoung's green jacket sleeve, stopping him before he turned away. "Maybe I was buying time for a friend, but still, I didn't lie. I meant every word, Doyoung. It might be a little hard to believe, but I like–"

He shook his head, stopping her before she could get the words out; the very phrase she'd been choking on for the longest time. "Just ... don't. I don't need to hear your excuses." It pained him to cut off her sentence, but Doyoung knew that if he heard those words, he wouldn't be able to do what he wanted to.

Eunbyul nodded understandingly, hiding her nervous hands behind her. "Can I say something else then?" She inquired, taking a step back to keep a reasonable distance between them.

"What is it?"

"Whatever decision you make, I don't want it to be out of spite because you think I did you wrong, okay? I may have been wrong, and I know you are really mad at me right now ... but please don't let it affect anything that's to do with Haruto."

Though Eunbyul meant this in the simplest way possible, Doyoung only understood that she cared about Haruto even till the end. A ghost ... over a human. Pathetic, really. He walked away without another word, and Eunbyul hoped her words knocked some sense into him.

And it did ... just not the good sense. Kim Doyoung was about to do something he'd probably regret, and there was no saying that he'd be forgiven for it.

As the students gathered for their evening revision class, Eunbyul nervously sat in her seat, watching as Doyoung stood in front of the class, looking like he had announcement. "I found out who our class ghost is," he stated, causing the female to widen her eyes. "You say it, or should I?"
