Many times in Babur Nama, the first Mughal has said that he didn't want to live in India. The following couplet, taken from the Babur-nama, might give some clue as to why Babur came to India:
"For Islam's sake, I wandered the wilds, Prepared for war with pagans and Hindus, Resolved myself to meet the martyr's death, Thanks be to God ! a ghazi I became."
Babur has many times in Babur Nama has said that he wanted to leave India but couldn't because he has made an 'empire' with blood and slaughter.

Thar-thar kaapte the Mughal inke samne ! Rana Sanga is said to have fought more than 100 wars and has lost only one !
Because of so many battles great Rana Sanga ji lost his one eye, one wrist and had a limping leg. But still he fought bravely against Mughal invasions and united the Rajput against them.
Now some will say ki Babur ko Rana Sanga ne hi invite kiya tha India. False ! Babur ko Daulat Khan Lodi ne invite kiya tha, yeh baat Babur Nama mei likha hai.
Woh toh ulta Babur tha jisne Rana Sanga ki help maangi thi Lodi ko overthrow karne ke liye lekin Rana ji ne mana kar diya.
He led a war against Babur. Despite initial success, Rana Sanga suffered a defeat at Khanwa through the Babur's use of gunpowder, which was unknown in North India at the time. This was the only time he lost in his military career.
Now let's move to Humayun. Yeh banda itna kamzor tha.....ki kya batau..... Sher Shah Suri se dar ke kitne saal toh India se bhaga raha, kabhi Kabul mei, toh kabhi Iran mei. Iske baare mei batane ke liye mere paas kuch nahi hai.....chhodo.

Akbar-nama mei iss emperor ne kaha hai ki he was happy that he killed non-Muslims or 'Kafir' in the wars.

Fun fact - It is said that Maharana Pratap was of 7'5 in height, and Akbar was 5'7 in height.....
Don't get suprised yet, Akbar ki aukat isse bhi chhoti thi Maharana Pratap ke Samne.
There were in total 18 wars that happened between Maharana Pratap and Akbar, in which the so called great Mughal Emperor lost 17 times ! Aur itne sare wars mei kitni baar dar ke bhaga tha yeh humare Maharana sa se.
The only time he won was the war of Haldighati which is the only war taught to us. Haina ? Propaganda dekho sab.
But woh bhi iss hi liye jita tha kyuki Mughal army Maan Singh ke command mei thi. Ek Rajput ko dusre Rajput se bhida diya, btw yeh ek hi family ke the. Jodha Bai ki mother Maharana Pratap ki bua thi.
Ha mana Maharana ko Haldighati ke baad kuch time jungle mei rehna pada, patte khane pade but uske baad jo war huya kya woh pata hai ?
The battle of Dewair 1582, on the occasion of Vijayadashami Maharana Pratap attacked the captured Dewair, defeated the Mughals, 36000 of them surrendered.
Maharana Pratap recaptured 36 posts beside Chittor, Ajmer and Mandalgarh that were taken by Mughal after Haldighati yudh.
This was the same battle where Maharana Pratap cut Behlol Khan into two pieces with his horse.

Another famous thing in this war is that Amar Singh who was fighting besides Maharana Pratap threw his spear on a Mughal commander Sultan Khan (Akbar's uncle) the spear pierced him and his horse together on the ground. So severely that none of the Mughal soldiers were unable to remove it from his body.
Later Akbar sent 6 military expeditions against Maharana Pratap and all failed, after that Akbar was never able to capture Mewar.
