chapter fifty seven:
jealousy, jealousy
┗━━━━━━━━━━┛

NORA WOKE WITH A SPLITTING HEADACHE. The last thing she remembered was Aurora revealing the fact that she put Rebekah at the bottom of the ocean, and then... nothing.

"Good. You're awake." Freya chirped, with her hands folded in front of her with something smoking in her hand.

"What did you do to me? What is that?" She groaned. She went to reach for her head, but her hands were tied behind her.

"That pain you feel in your head, it's just a... small pain infliction spell." She waved the smoking item around. "And this, this is part of my spell that has made us so no one can hear what happens."

"We're gonna have a lot of fun." Hayley said, unenthusiastically, as she walked in the room. This brought a smile to Nora's face.

So this is the woman that caught her eye... Nora thought. She looked at Hayley up and down, and was only filled with anger. Hayley was attractive, sure, but what else made her so special? Was it because she's a hybrid? Do I have to become something more? Do I have to become a hybrid of sorts?

Hayley had knew exactly who Nora was, thanks to Freya. She knew Nora had been Leviana's first love, and the person she loved most out of her many, many years of life besides her family, of course. Hayley loved Leviana, but how could her love be anything compared to a thousand years of their undying love?

"You're Hayley. The mother of Klaus' child, and Leviana's . . . ex girlfriend?" Nora laughed, "oh, I was really hoping I'd get to meet you."

"Feelings not mutual." Hayley immediately said.

Nora sighed with a look of annoyance on her face. "Fine. What are we doing here, then?"

Hayley folded her arms, "you're going to tell us what ever you know about Aurora's plan, or we're going to kill you."

FREYA HAD GONE TO DEAL WITH AURORA, LEAVING HAYLEY ALONE WITH NORA. She punched Nora in the jaw. "I'm gonna ask again, what do you know?"

"You're quite strong . . ." Nora laughed, feeling blood trickle from her nose. "For an infant."

Freya had given Hayley a magic ball. All she had to do was touch it, and Nora would feel an immense amount of pain. So, Hayley touched it.

That only angered Nora.

She broke the restraints, and sped to Hayley, punching her in the jaw, though Hayley recovered quickly. Hayley went to lunch her, but Nora caught her fist, taking the opportunity to kick Hayley into the wall. But what she didn't see was that Hayley had managed to grab the ball as she fell into the wall. Nora yelled in pain, stumbling back into the corner she had originally been in.

Hayley marched over to her and pulled her head back. "How about a werewolf bite you psychotic bitch?" She let the veins under her eyes show, not missing how no fear could be seen in Nora's eyes.

"Do it." Nora challenged. "I'll only laugh in your face once Leviana gets Klaus to heal me." Hayley shoved her back into the corner and watched as she slid down the wall with a smirk on her face.

"He might heal you, and Aurora, but I doubt he'll heal your brother." Hayley taunted, kneeling down in front of her.

"How is she, by the way?" Nora asked, out of breath. "All our recent interactions have been . . . violent, to say the least. We haven't had the time to have a proper chat. Or to continue the greatest love story ever told."

"What makes you think she wants that?" Hayley questioned. "I mean, let's be honest, when you met, she was on the run she had nowhere to go. But then she found you and your castle. She could have easily just been using you for your home, for your expensive jewels, anything you had that she didn't." She tsked, "your whole 'great love story' could have just been a great lie."

"Shut up." Nora spoke lowly.

"I'm sorry, what was that?"

"I said, shut up!" Nora pushed Hayley to the ground and immediately went for her heart. But, even while being caught off guard, Hayley managed to stop her. She may have only been holding Nora's hand and trying to push it away, but it was working.

Hayley couldn't afford to die. She couldn't leave Hope without a mother.

And thankfully, she wouldn't.

Leviana came up from behind Nora, pulling her arms back and throwing her to the other side of the room. She looked back to Hayley, "are you okay?"

Hayley sighed, "yeah. Yeah, I'm okay."  Leviana held out her hand for her to take, and she did.

"Oh, where have you been, my love?" Nora asked, a smile across her face.

"I was having my fun with your siblings." Leviana shrugged, and Nora's smile fell.

"No harm should come to my brother or my sister." Nora threatened, standing up. "As they are the keys to bringing your precious Rebekah back. While my siblings are nuisances, they aren't stupid. When Aurora had her friends Rebekah dropped into the ocean, she found out the exact location of Rebekah's watery grave sealed in two envelopes. Hers contains the latitude. Tristan's the longitude. Both of them has one half of the coordinates you need to find your sister. X marks the spot."

"So, they just left you to fend for yourself?" Hayley asked.

"Remember when I said they aren't stupid?" She circled around them. "If anything should happen to me, they will never reveal her whereabouts. But, they know nothing will happen to me."

"And how can you be so sure of that?"

"Because, Hayley, no matter how Leviana feels, a part of her will never let me die." She smiled, finally stopping in front of them, "who has the advantage now?"
