Ezio's POV

"Mr. Romano, I am so sorry, but we couldn't save her," the doctor told me.

Everything froze.

My head started to feel dizzy then I started laughing hysterically.

"That's funny," I laughed.

"Mr. Romano, she first died on the beach then in the ambulance and this last one, there was nothing we could've done. She's gone," He told me.

Is he joking?

I pushed past him and went into Belle's room.

They were already transferring her into a body bag.

They just had her face left to zip.

"MY DAUGHTER DIED AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN GOING TO LET ME SAY GOODBYE?!" I yelled at them.

They unzipped the bag and I just grabbed onto her hand.

She is still so warm.

I don't understand how she can be dead.

"Belle please say this is one of your jokes and that you're gonna wake up?" I ask her as my eyes start to well up. "Belle please."

I dropped to my knees while still holding her limp hand.

My other hand went to her forehead and I started to run my fingers through her damp, sandy hair.

I placed my head on my arm that was supported by the bed and cried into it, I couldn't bare looking at her.

The last time I saw her, I yelled at her.

Am I the reason she died?

Did I kill her?

"Romano," Williams said as he placed one of his hands on my back.

"John, just stop," I told him.

He pulled up a chair next to me and just silently sat there.

I heard sobbing come from the other side of Belle and just knew that it was Austin.

They practically did everything together.

"It's hurts so much momma," he sobbed.

Amen to that.

"Sir I'm gonna have to ask you to leave," the doctor said.

I continued to hold my daughters hand.

"Ezio you need to get back to your boys," Williams told me.

"I can't leave her," I cried.

"Ezio, I'm sure she's watching you from hell and calling you a bitch," John told me.

I nodded and reluctantly let go of her hand, but her hand wouldn't let go of mine.

The doctor noticed and rushed over to me.

"That sometimes happens when we send a lot of volts to the heart trying to keep it beating. It's just the muscle still tensed up," the doctor said.

I'll have to ask Zeno that at some point to make sure it's true.

He pried her hand away from mine and the same for Austin.

I walked out of the room following Alessio behind and saw Zeno zip by.

"Zeno, clock out," I told him.

He looked at me with worry and it finally clicked.

He immediately nodded and I saw the tears well up in his eyes as he ran in the direction he just came from.
