"are you sure you will?" i whispered to avani over the loud snores of madi, "i don't want to make you stay up late, i can put the presents under the tree!"

"char, i love that you're thinking of me but i will! you should get some rest," she said back quietly.

"voni.. are you sure you're sure?" i was already falling asleep but i was going to fight my case.

"charli. yes," she said harshly, and it took me by surprise. i think she realised that by the shock on my face, so she quickly apologised, "char, i'm sorry, i didn't mean it that way, but please, let me do it, and after all, it's only an extra 2 hours i'll have to stay up,"

"fine," i finally gave in.

"thank you, now please get to bed," she laughed.

i snuggled up beside madi as avani gave me a kiss on the forehead, "night night," she whispered.
