Glade Girly | Minho x Reader

Y/n's POV
We stood underneath the lookout trying to stay away from other gladers that might eavesdrop.

"The maps are a lost cause" I said. "It's just pictures of a repeating cycle".

"Ok we knew that already" Alby said.

"If we want to find that connection, I need to be a runner" I said.
I could see Alby opening his mouth to say something so I quickly started again.
"I was there when it happened, I know what I'm looking for, who knows maybe it even happened because I was there like I was the trigger or something".

"It's dangerous Y/n" Alby said shaking his head.

"Yes I know" I said. "But it could work and I don't have to go alone another runner can accompany me".

"We don't even know if you can be a runner, it's not easy" Alby said.

"You know what else we don't know" I said looking at him fiercely.
"We don't know how we got here, we don't know who put us here, we don't know how the walls close every night, we don't know what the griever's are here for, we don't know what we're here for".

"We don't know a lot of things Alby" I said shaking my head at him.

"And now we have a chance to find some answers and what you won't let me because I might not be able to run fast enough" I said.

Alby looked like he was taking in and considering everything I had said. I know I'm right and if Alby deny's me I will go into the maze anyway.

"Look Y/n your right but I'm not keeper of the runners, Minho is" Alby said. "It's his call".

"Your kidding" I said annoyed. "Minho will never allow it" I whined at Alby.

"You're the leader of everything Alby, surely you rule out what anybody else thinks" I pleaded with him.

"Why do you think I asked you first, I knew Minho would shut it down before I could even reason with him, Alby please" I asked again.

Alby let out a big sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose "I will help you convince him but if he says no it's a no" Alby said holding out his hand in compromise.

I shook his hand. We had a deal.

-time skip-
The next time I saw Minho was at dinner. I went and got Alby and we went and sat opposite Minho.

He looked up at us with a mouth full of food. We sat there in awkward silence for a few moments no one wanting to start the conversation.

"Minho" I said.

He looked up warily and swallowed his food.

Minho's POV
This was awkward. At first I was a little offended that Y/n sat next to Alby instead of next to me but then they just sat there watching me eat.

"Minho" Y/n said trying to start a conversation.

I swallowed my food and looked at both of them.

"What's going on, you two are being serious, it's wired" I said pointing between them both.

"We need to ask you something, a request really" Y/n said. "It's about the maze".

I sat up straighter we really shouldn't be talking about this over dinner if Y/n had to consult Alby about it.

"I want you to take me in there, make me a runner" Y/n said not blinking.

"Absolutely not" I said shaking my head and went back to eating.

"Minho I need to be in the maze to find the connection, the maps are just a broken record, it's the same thing over and over. We aren't getting anywhere" Y/n said.

"No Y/n" I said. Looking towards Alby to back me up. She did the same thing.

"It's not like she's never been in the before, plus she would have you or another runner with her" Alby said. I can't believe he's taking her side. The maze is dangerous and filled with death machines ready to kill us the first chance they get.

"I don't care it's to unpredictable" I said starting to raise my voice.

"What if I'm the trigger for the opening" Y/n said. "Would you really stop not just me from going back to the place I've called home for years but eliminate maybe your only chance of getting out of this place!".

"Minho I think this is a risk we should take, you said it yourself the more people we have the easier this whole thing will be. Getting another group of people who have lived in the same conditions we have could mean we find the escape" Alby said his hands gesturing through the open air to try and make his option seem like the best one.

"We have one Y/n" I said. "One girl from the other maze, one person with information about both Glades and you want to put her life at risk".

"All our lives are at risk here Minho, this place isn't always going to be safe" Alby said.

"And my life is my own to worry about" Y/n said.

Well I'd say Y/n knows how to argue but will it be enough to convince Minho.
