When we finished up at the diner the guys threw some money down on the table and all walked out together.

I held back, feeling a little awkward. I didn't fit in with these people, they weren't my friends and I basically invited myself. Nobody actually wanted me here.

"I'm gonna head home." I announced to the group.

"Thank god for that." Arlo commented.

"You're not going home Fearne." Jamie threw his arm over my shoulder "Ignore Arlo, he doesn't mean it." I smiled politely at him and carried on walking under his arm.

"Wait, I want to talk to you for a second." Arlo grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Jamie. "We'll catch you up." He gestured at the others to go ahead.

"What is it this time Arlo? You want to shout at me for what I said at the diner? I don't want to hear it. I'm not listening unless it's to tell me why you're so mad at me!" I unleashed on him. Our gazes remained silently locked.

"Was just gonna suggest you get yourself to a bathroom." He shrugged. My face screwed up with anger. What the fuck?

"And why is that?" I put my hands on my hips and straightened my expression, waiting for the stupid comment to come.

"Because you've got a red stain the size of my palm on your ass." My face plummeted along with my dignity. I touched the back of my jeans, they felt dry.

"If you're fucking with me right now it's not funny." I tried to turn my head around to look at my ass but I wasn't that flexible. I slapped my hands over my backside and kept them there, the awkwardness was excruciating. He started laughing and I died a slow and painful death, humiliated.

He took off his hoodie. "Blossom, I've checked out your ass enough times to know for sure but I got you.  Take this, you can tie it around your waist."

"I'm not taking your hoodie." I protested, indeed taking his hoodie and tying it around my waist anyway.

"I still hate you, but it's cool. I get it, I have a sister." He walked away from me, heading towards the movie theatre.

Damn, just when I committed to disliking him he went and did something sweet. He could've made a big deal out of that, he didn't need to pull me aside away from everyone. He certainly didn't need to offer me his hoodie.

"Are you coming?" He yelled and I realised he had walked a good bit ahead of me.

We found the group on the back row of the movie theatre. Arlo was as fidgety as ever and asked Jamie to trade places with him so he didn't have to sit next to me. Jamie refused. Arlo jumped up as soon as the trailers started rolling.
