So much anxiety, swallowed down and suppressed by a single chalky white pill. My mind once clamouring with thoughts was now left quiet and still.

"Hey dipshit! Why is everyone talking about you and Fearne hooking up?" Lexi walked into my bedroom, nose in her phone.

I blinked slowly, my brain trying to catch up with her words. "People talk shit." I slurred out, slow and unclear. She glanced at me, putting her phone in her back pocket.

"Are high?" She asked.

"As a kite."

"Scoot over, what are we watching?" I rolled up on the mattress so she could slip in under the covers next to me.

"Toy story." I yawned.

She lay her head on my shoulder, cuddling into my arm and I blinked at the colourful drawings on my television screen, my eyelids felt too heavy to keep open.

"Are you sleeping over?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe."

"Okay."

Great, so I needed to stay awake.
