Song in title- MILLION DOLLAR BABY (VHS) by Tommy Richman
—~~••~~—I tried activating my true potential, summoning the strength within me to clear the sticks and leaves from the road, but it was no use. Frustration bubbled up as I realized how powerless I felt without our usual elemental powers. The road remained cluttered, a symbol of the obstacles we were facing.
I sighed spinning around to be met with Cole holding some wildflowers. "The wind brought them in." He smiled as the stems cracked the flowers dropping down.
I laughed slightly at the scene. "Oh lovely..."
"Yeah- they're beautiful right?" Cole asked with a small sigh as the petals began to fall on the street.
"They're beautiful." I nodded putting a hand up to hide the laughter and my amused smile. He has been trying to make me feel better ever since my dad left.
"Yeah they were nice..." Cole trailed off holding them to cover his faces as i tried to once again reassure him they're beautiful. "I'm sorry."
I smiled dismissing him. "No no. It's impressive, they actually held together very well." Cole pulled the flowers down searching my gaze finding only certainty. "I'm gonna keep these and find you some new ones."
I nodded with a soft smile as Kai was next, trying to use his fire to melt the debris together. He gritted his teeth in concentration. "Aargh. Ugh, this is frustrating," he yelled, his anger evident as the street sign clattered to the ground. I quickly moved out of the way, narrowly avoiding the falling metal.
"Our weapons are gone, and most of our elemental powers are out of commission," Kai continued, his voice tinged with exasperation. "I mean, we can still do Spinjitzu, but..." He grunted in frustration, trying to summon his fire again, but the only flame that appeared was from Zane's blowtorch. "I just feel so, I don't know, limited. And thanks to the Devourer, our tank's out of commission, our Dragon's hurt, and now the Bounty is destroyed. We don't even have a place to sleep."
"No one ever said being a hero is easy," Zane concluded, his tone practical as he continued to mold the street sign, removing his welding mask. "Though our good deeds may never make us rich, they make us rich in other ways."
"Yeah, well, I don't feel rich," Kai whined, clearly overwhelmed by the situation.
"I, for one, enjoy pitching in. I've always wanted to feel part of a community," Jay said, trying to lift the group's spirits. "Uh, speaking of which, has anyone seen Nya? She said she was gonna help."
Just then, Nya arrived on a bike, her presence a welcome sight. "And I have. I may have found us a place to live," she announced with a grin.
"Really? But there's a waiting list a mile long to live in Ninjago City. How did you manage that?" I asked, overjoyed. The thought of finally having a place to sleep after all the chaos was a much-needed relief.
"I know a guy who knows a girl, and she knows this girl who knows a guy. Well, this guy knows a girl who's a real estate agent and she can help us find a place, if you catch my drift." She handed Jay a pamphlet, her eyes sparkling with satisfaction.
"And where are you off to?" Jay asked, looking at her with curiosity.
"We need to find a couple of components to fix the ninja tank. And my dragon ointment has finally arrived. It's a day's trip, but once we get back, he'll be flying again. Also, I love scenic drives. Haha, punch it, Nya!" Sensei Wu grinned as he joined Nya, both of them quickly setting off.
