Song in title- For the First Time in Forever (Reprise) by Kristin Bell, Idina Menzel
—~~••~~—"You know..." Cole trailed off as we walked through the dimly lit halls of the monastery, his voice quieter now, more thoughtful. "You should tell Lloyd at least."
His words made my steps falter. I came to a stop, staring down at the stone floor as I turned the thought over in my head.
"Wouldn't it just be simpler to leave quickly?" I asked, glancing at him. "So he doesn't have time to convince me otherwise?"
Cole sighed, shaking his head. "Lloyd's whole life, people have been leaving him. No goodbyes, no explanations—just gone. Do you really want to be another name on that list?"
A sharp pang of guilt twisted in my chest. He was right. As much as I hated to admit it, he was absolutely right.
"No," I murmured, exhaling slowly. My gaze drifted toward Lloyd's door at the end of the hall, the faint glow of moonlight filtering in through the nearby window. For all the strength Lloyd had, for all the battles he had fought and won, I knew abandonment still haunted him. I couldn't do that to him—not after everything.
I turned to Cole, my voice firm. "Stay here."
He nodded, crossing his arms as he leaned against the wall, watching me with quiet understanding.
Steeling myself, I stepped forward and knocked on Lloyd's door, my heart pounding just a little harder than before.
The door creaked open, revealing Lloyd, bleary-eyed and tousle-haired from sleep. His expression shifted from groggy confusion to concern the moment he saw me standing there with my pack slung over my shoulder.
"Y/n?" His voice was hoarse with sleep, but there was already an edge of worry beneath it. "What are you doing?"
I swallowed hard, stepping into the room and shutting the door behind me. The dim glow of the moon illuminated the space, casting long shadows over the maps and training manuals scattered across his desk.
"I came to say goodbye," I said quietly, watching as his face immediately hardened.
"No," Lloyd shook his head, fully awake now. "No way. Where are you even going?"
I took a steadying breath. "I need to find someone. Someone who can help me understand my powers."
He frowned, taking a step closer. "Master Wu can help you—Sensei has trained all of us, you know that."
"It's not that simple, Lloyd." I ran a hand through my hair, already anticipating his resistance. "There's only one person who might have the answers I need. Someone who's walked a hard path like this before. Someone who understands what it means to have uncontrolled powers inside them."
His face paled slightly. "...You're talking about him."
I nodded. "I have to find Garmadon."
Lloyd's jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides. "Y/n, you don't have to do this. He's dangerous—he's not the kind of person you just track down for advice!"
"He's our father," I reminded him, my voice softer. "And if anyone knows how to control power like this, it's him."
His emerald eyes searched mine, desperate, pleading. "And what if he twists your mind? What is he makes it worse?"
I stepped forward, reaching for his hands, forcing him to look at me—really look at me. "Lloyd, listen to me. That won't happen. I'm not going to the dark side, and I'm not abandoning you. But I need answers. I need to understand what's inside me before it destroys me, or worse... hurts the people I love."
