The docks were alive with a quiet serenity, the morning sun casting golden rays over the calm waters. I leaned against the railing, smiling softly as I watched a father and son push off in a small boat, their fishing rods gleaming in the light. The boy's laughter echoed across the harbor, a sound that filled the air with hope and renewal.

"Looks like we made this place safe to fish again," Kai said, joining Lloyd and me at the edge of the dock. He gave Lloyd a reassuring nudge. "If your father were still here, he'd tell you how proud he is of you both. Plus you've become a great leader, Lloyd."

Lloyd's gaze stayed fixed on the boat as it drifted farther out. A small, wistful smile tugged at his lips. "No," he replied, shaking his head gently. "We're a great team. Can't say I don't miss him, though." His voice carried a quiet weight, the kind of ache you don't fully get used to.

Across the dock, a loud splash drew our attention. "It's working!" Cole yelled triumphantly, grinning as he and Jay struggled to maneuver the enormous fish we'd caught into a massive tank. Water sloshed over the edges, soaking them both, as well as Zane, who stood calmly at the side, his normally pristine uniform now drenched.

I laughed, jogging over as the three of them groaned and tried to shake off the water. "You look like you could use a hand," I teased, raising my arms and summoning a gentle breeze. The wind swept over them, drying their clothes and ruffling their hair.

Jay let out a dramatic sigh of relief. "Thanks, Y/n. Thought I was gonna turn into a soggy noodle."

Zane nodded in agreement, brushing a damp streak of water out of his face. "I appreciate the assistance. Wet clothing can be quite inefficient."

"Hey, you two gonna join us or what?" Jay called to Lloyd and Kai, who were still standing near the edge of the dock. "We're taking a picture with this beauty! No one's gonna believe we caught it if we don't have proof."

"Go on, Lloyd," Kai said, giving him a light shove toward the group. "You deserve to be in this."

Lloyd hesitated for a moment, then smiled and followed Kai to the rest of us. The photographer gestured for everyone to squeeze in closer, adjusting the lens as we crowded around the tank.

"Back! Back just a little further," Zane instructed, directing the man like a precision machine. "Just a little—"

Before he could finish, the photographer took a step too far and stumbled backward into the water with a loud splash. We all froze, then burst into laughter as the poor man resurfaced, sputtering.

"Oh, great!" I said, wiping a tear from my eye. "Now who's gonna believe we caught this thing?"

As if on cue, the fish gave a mighty splash of its own, sending a wave of water over us. The shock of the cold drenched us completely, and we screamed in unison, scrambling to avoid another soaking.

Jay groaned, dripping wet once again. "Y/n, we're gonna need you on wind duty. Again."

I rolled my eyes with a grin and stepped forward. "Alright, alright. Hold still, all of you." I summoned another gust of wind, this one playful and warm, swirling around us until everyone was dry once more.

As the breeze died down, the group broke into laughter, the tension of the day melting away. In that moment, with the sun shining down and our team laughing together, it felt like everything was going to be okay.
