I landed at the old Monastery, the cool mountain air brushing against my face. After receiving the others' message, I hurried here, knowing full well the danger we were in. This place had always carried a weight of history and solace, but now it felt like the last refuge for fugitives. One by one, the others arrived, their faces etched with the same exhaustion and tension I felt. Jay, as expected, was the last to show up.

"Seriously? I was the last one to figure out it was Wu's old Monastery? And Lloyd wasn't even trained here!" Jay complained, throwing his arms up in frustration. His voice echoed faintly against the ancient walls.

Kai rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "Maybe if you stopped cracking jokes for a minute, you would've figured it out sooner," he quipped, earning a chuckle from Cole.

"It'll only be a matter of time before they find this place too, so there isn't much time," Lloyd interrupted, his tone sharp, commanding attention. He turned to Zane, who was already stepping forward, his mechanical gaze locked onto us. "Zane, show them what you found."

Without hesitation, Zane activated the small holographic projector built into his wrist, and an image flickered to life in front of us. "I came across security footage of Sensei at the Library of Domu," Zane explained, his voice calm but somber. "He was not alone."

The footage played, the grainy image showing Wu pacing in the library, speaking animatedly to someone just out of frame.

"Hey, look. It's Wu," Cole said, leaning in to get a better look, his brows furrowing. "But who's he talking to?"

I watched closely, squinting as the footage glitched for a moment, then suddenly froze. One second Wu was there, gesturing mid-sentence, and the next—nothing. It was as if he had vanished into thin air.

"What happened? Who was he looking at?" I asked, my voice quieter than I intended, the eerie disappearance sinking into my chest like a stone.

"We don't know," Lloyd admitted, his jaw tightening. "But no one's seen him since."

Zane took the lead again, pulling up another file. "The library database indicated he had checked out a book about the Teapot of Tyrahn. At first, we thought we might be dealing with Clouse." He paused, his expression grim. "If this is what I think it is, the situation is far worse. We may have a Djinn on our hands."

"A Djinn?" Jay asked, his brow furrowing. "You mean, like a genie? Poof! Three wishes and all that jazz?" He waved his hands dramatically, earning a groan from Kai.

"Not exactly," Nya interjected, crossing her arms as she stepped forward. "Think of it more like a genie who twists your wishes into nightmares. You'll be wishing you'd never met him."

Kai frowned, his usually confident demeanor faltering. "What else do we know about Djinn?"

"Hm." I tapped my chin, recalling the fragments of stories Sensei Wu had shared in passing. "Not much. But what we do know is they're sneaky, manipulative, and incredibly powerful. If this Djinn has already trapped Sensei Wu—the wisest man I know—then he must be seriously dangerous."

Lloyd nodded, his expression hardening with resolve. "Then it's settled. Since we know so little about Djinns, we need to head back to town to gather more information."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Cole cut in, raising his hands in protest. "If we head back together, the police will arrest us on sight. We should split up."

Kai stepped forward, shaking his head. "But anyone caught alone with this guy suddenly disappears. That's not exactly a great plan either."
