Chapter 14

"Where the fvcking hell this shit came from!? Didn't I tell you not to take anything in my behalf!?" Madiin kong sabi.

I wanted to totally burse out my anger because of this happenings but I just couldn't! I don't want this to take as a big deal yet it's not that small to be shrugged off at the same time.

Kanina pa ako nagpipigil ng sariling hindi makapanakit. Talagang nag-iinit ang ulo ko dahil sa nangyari. Napailing ako at marahas na napabuntong hininga.

"Gavin..." Pagtatawag ko sa personal secretary ko. Agad naman siyang tumalima at nakayukong lumapit sakin. "Tell me.., what else do you know!? Have their anyone suspicious while still I'm on my way here!?"

Napailing siya at nanatiling nakayuko. "I'm sorry Sir. I didn't notice someone or anyone suspicious around. In fact, nagulat na lang ako na nakalagay na yan," pagtuturo niya sa attache case na nasa ibabaw ng table ko. "I'm really sorry Sir! In return for my incompetence, I'll take full responsibility for this sir!"

Lalo lang nadagdagan ang init ng ulo ko sa narinig. Hindi sa kung paano na ilagay ang attache case sa lamesa ang iniisip ko. It's not a big deal, really! This isn't the first time someone did this to me! Hindi na nakakagulat sa parte ko na may death threat na bumubungad sakin, sa bahay man o dito mismo sa HQ ko. Kaya ang makatanggap ng attache case na may lamang peking deffusive device ay hindi na kataka-taka sakin.

Ang mas pinagtutuonan ko ng pansin at ang dahilan ng pag iinit ng ulo ko ay dahil sa katutuhanang may nakapasok mismo sa loob ng opisina ko! Wala akong pake kusihudang sandamukal na death threat ang ipadala sakin, ang mas inaalala ko ay kung sino ang naglakas ng loob na pumasok sa opisina ko – ayos lang sana kung paglalagay lang ng attache case yung pakay, pero hindi eh!

Lalong nag-init ang ulo ko. Malakas na natampal ko ang lamesa out of frustration. Damn! Napahilamos ako ng mukha at naitukod ang dalawang kamay sa magkabilang gilid ng table ko.

I frustratedly licked my lower lip. I look at Gavin sideways. "Go straight to the security room now and review all the CCTV cameras! From entrance to exit! Check every corner of this building and don't stop until you don't have a single clue who might the intruder is!"

"Yes sir!" Tanging naitugon niya. Hindi ako umalis sa posisyon ko hanggang sa tuloyan ng makaalis sa opisina ko si Gaven.

Sa hindi ko na mabilang na pagkakataon ay muli akong marahas na napabuntong hininga. Napasandal ako sa lamesa ko habang naka cross arm at napatitig sa labas ng bintana.

My head is literally spinning! Sumasakit ang ulo ko kakaisip sa mga nangyayari. I don't have enough time for another problem now because I still have too much in my plate but this can't be shrugged off and it's needed an immediate action!

Napahilot ako ng sintido dahil sa labis na prostrasyong nararamdaman. I can stand with the death threat whatever but the thought of someone has stoled an important credentials is too much to bare!

Napakaimportante ng mga files na yun na hindi ko matanggap na iyon pa talaga ang nawala! Hindi lang yun basta-bastang files! Nandon lahat ng mga dokumintong hindi dapat mailantad o, makita nino man maliban sa iba pang mga boss at bosses! At nakakapanlumo dahil nandoon din yung mga files na pinaghirapan kung kunin. Those files were the reason why we're still on top and losing it is the least thing I can't afford!

This organization remains secret and will always be a secret, but after what happened I don't really know what now! This might change everything!

If worse comes worst then it's my dead end point! It'll be the death of me!

Napapailing na niluwagan ko ang necktie sa leeg ko at napabuntong hininga. "Make sure – whoever you are – that you didn't leave a single hint pointing at you or else..." Walang emosyong napatitig ako sa kawalan.

"I will bring hell to you and make your life miserable that you would beg for your death!" I added under my breath.

I'll make sure of that and it's a promise!

Pagkatapos na makapag isip-isip ay nagmamadaling umalis ako ng opisina habang nagtitipa sa cellphone ko. Nothing will happen if I stayed here and just wait for an update. I can do something, I know that, and that's what I will work now.

Agad na akong sumakay sa kotse ko pagkababa at pinaharurot iyon paalis.  Hindi nagtagal ang naging byahe ko. Pagkarating ay walang katok-katok na pumasok ako sa pinto ng shop. Agad na bumungad saakin si Amera na parang bang hinihintay niya ako.

"Hi there handsome," agaran nitong saad pagkakita sakin. Hindi ko siya pinansin at tuloy-tuloy lang na pumasok.

"Ughh.. you're so nakakairita talaga! You texted me that you need me now yet you're ignoring me–"

"I texted you but I didn't said that I need you!" Agad na pagpuputol ko sa mga sasabihin niya.

"Ughh, you're being mean Jaxx!" Pagsasalita nito ulit na inilingkis pa ang dalawang kamay sa braso ko. "Hindi mo nga sinabi na kailangan mo ko, but the fact that you texted me is enough proof to think that you need something from me!" She added half true.

Sarkastiko akong napatawa.

Tinampal niya ang braso ko. "True naman ah! Pumupunta ka lang if may kailangan ka sakin, or you need to know something!"

Kinalas ko ang pagkakalingkis ng kamay niya sakin at umupo sa high chair. "I need to know something!" Walang paligoy-ligoy kong sabi.

"Told yaa... What is it this time?" Naka cross arms niyang tanong.

Nag angat ako ng tingin sakanya. Pinag taasan niya ako ng kilay habang naka sandal siya sa island counter.

"It's not what! It's who." Salubong ang kilay na pagtatama ko sakanya.

Agad na kumunot ang noo niya sa sinabi ko. "Eh? You mean... who is it this time? Ganon ba?"

Marahan akong tumango. Napatungo ako at mariin na napapikit. "An intruder stoled some important files I can't afford to lose–"

"And you want me to dig and know your intruder, is that it!?" Pagpuputol niya sa sasabihin ko.

I lift my head and stared at her straight into her eyes. "Yeah!" Walang paligoy-ligoy kong sagot. "I want you to know who's that motherfvcker!"

"You're the one whom I can run to. I know you have the ability to do it. You can do it for me, right Mera?" I added.

Bahagya akong napatawa nung napairap siya at napa rolled eyes. "You're really are so mean!" She pouted. "You only remember me and lending a visit if you need something! I'm hurt! I feel loved!"

Kalauna'y napailing siya at halos magpapadyak. "Aishh! As if I can say fucking no to you Russel Jaxx!"

I know! I really do! I know you can't say no to me. You're being too kind again that I'm taking it for my own advantage – again.

"Know that person for me. I want to get back the files as soon as possible!"

Hindi pwede hayaan ko lang kung sino man ang kumuha nun. Hindi pwedeng hindi ko makuha ulit yun. I know Amera can help me.

I trust her ability. I may treat her like that but deep with in me, I know, I can trust this one to her hand. She's a retired navy officer, ex-member of my hacker team, and she's good at it. Computers is her daily food. She's a trusted one.

"You're in the right hand Z. Even if you're being mean I still don't want to leave you hanging. So, let see what I can get." She wickedly smile and wink at me.

I feel I bit happy because she will help me – as always – but I kind of guilty at the same time. She leave the organization to live a peaceful life, I know it even before yet here I am, still dragging her into my mess.

I look at her sideways.

How can I be so selfish!? By helping me, I know you will be dragged with me. And I'm sorry for that. I promise, after all of this, I'll make it up to you, everything... Ate!
