I WASN'T PLANNING on stalking Valé and Caleb, I mean the only reason I was even in the school Library - which is fucking huge by the way - was because Xemina had dragged me along to a study session Ari had planned.

I'd gone to the window that overlooked the woods as a last resort, the desire to smash my head against it tempting, and that's when I'd seen it...seen them.

The arched window gives a clear of the two of them but I doubt they can see me from how the window's angled. So I do what any sane person would, I watch as my bestfriend makes out with the same girl that brought us down.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm shocked - actually, maybe a little since it's Caleb - I definitely thought Luca would be the first to go. He's much more...whipped. No judgment here though, I'm no hypocrite.

I don't have a clear view of Valé since she's facing away from me and Caleb's body is flushed against hers, but I do have a view of his hands which molds themselves to her.

The spell between them suddenly breaks when she abruptly pushes him away from her. By the way Caleb's usual green eyes - now all black as a result of them being dilated - widen it seems he's just as shocked as I am.

"Atlas come back!" Xemina's voice breaks my attention away from the scene, and I irritatedly face the bookshelf that separates where she and Ari are stationed.

"Will you guys shut the fuck up if I do?" I'm only being rude so my presence isn't wanted and I can see where the scene will end up going. Not the hooking up part, I've walked into Caleb doing far too many things to want to add any more to the list, but I mean the part that follows. The explosion of it all.

No one says anything for a little while and I stand up straighter knowing the girls and their lack of taking my bullshit. That's when I hear movement from behind the bookshelf, Xemina walks out from behind it. She's got her usual pin-straight hair in soft waves - I assume it has to do with the fresh shower she'd taken after her ballet class that commenced earlier in the evening. "You shouldn't be so rude all the time." She frowns, crossing her arms over her body.

I look behind me for a split second, hearing soft murmurs coming from the half-opened window. The second I turn back I notice Xem coming closer. I'm quick to get her away from the unfolding scene, it's not that I don't trust Xemina necessarily it's just that when people know nothing, they can't prove anything - they can only assume and I don't want her assuming things about Caleb if she sees what I was just watching.

"And you shouldn't be flirting with Ari when you have a boyfriend." As soon as the words leave my mouth I watch her face fall and I instantly feel like shit for it. What the fuck Atlas?

Her frown turns more prominent and I take in as her cheeks begin to burn up. "You don't know anything."

"Fuck, I'm sorry." I shouldn't have said that, use what she hates to admit against her.
