Who Did This To You?

Heyo, human beings from outer space!

Yaaaay, I found a writing prompt on Pinterest!

And you guessed it: I'm hurting Ahsoka again. I'm so sorry, Ahsoka. I can't help it.

Trigger warning for harassment.

Read on if you dare.

Anakin didn't always agree with the Council. Oftentimes, he disagreed with them in one way or another, whether it was large or small.

This was one of those times. And this was a huge disagreement.

The Council decided to send Ahsoka on a solo mission to the lower levels of Coruscant... at night. Were they unaware of the threats to teenaged Togruta females in dingy, dark places? Did they not know the risk and danger they were shoving Ahsoka into?

If they did, they certainly didn't care.

Anakin brought his fist down at the table in the kitchen of his and Ahsoka's shared quarters. It made a loud thudding noise of metal slamming against the wood. He tightened his fist and let a growl rumble from the bottom of his throat.

A knock sounded on the door. Anakin, sensing who it was, shouted, "It's open."

The door swooshed open and in came Obi-Wan. He sat down at the table next to Anakin wordlessly.

Anakin wasn't angry at Obi-Wan. He knew that his former master did all he could to prevent the Council from sending Ahsoka on such a horrible mission.

"I'm nervous, too," Obi-Wan spoke, moving his hand to set on Anakin's clenched fist, "but you need to calm down. I'm sure she can sense you right now and that won't ease her own anxiety. It might as well distract her and endanger her further."

"You're right," Anakin sighed, shielding his worry from Ahsoka's bond. He loosened his cybernetic fist so it wouldn't lock in place. Late nights with either Ahsoka or Obi-Wan fiddling with his hand to get it to unlock were no fun. And tonight, he didn't need that.

Anakin watched the time tick by on the Chrono. Obi-Wan made them some tea and they drank in silence. No word from Ahsoka.

They finished the tea and Obi-Wan put away the mugs, the sugar, and the tea bags. No word from Ahsoka.

Obi-Wan eventually departed for his quarters. Anakin laid his head down on the table and closed his eyes. He didn't realize he'd dozed off until a thud from the other side of the quarters startled him up.

Anakin twisted to look over his shoulder. The door slid open and in tumbled Ahsoka. Anakin shot up and rushed to her. She cradled her arm over her middle, slouching slightly, and even in the dim light, Anakin could tell that blood smeared her face.

Anakin stepped forward and reached out a hand automatically. Ahsoka shrank away. Her shoulders trembled, her face blanched, and she looked ready to break out into tears.

"Please..." Ahsoka croaked. She sniffed and didn't finish whatever else she was going to say.

Reaching out a hand, slowly this time so as to not startle her, Anakin curled his fingers around her chin. He tilted her chin up to get a better look at her battered face. Anakin delicately thumbed a streak of blood away from Ahsoka's swollen lips, saying nothing.

Ahsoka's face turned impossibly whiter.

Anakin stared Ahsoka dead in the face, anger blazing in his eyes. His voice is quiet and tense, his anger bearly restrained.
