i got into the gym and saw lucas and the basketball team training.

he smiled and ran up to be from the bench.

"hey man, how you been?" i asked, pulling him into a hug.

he was so nice to me, honestly, my favourite of my brothers friends besides dustin.

"good, good, getting in with popular kids." he nodded.

"eh, fuck em. popularity is bullshit anyway." i sighed, watching the court.

"what happened to your eye?" he asked, noticing the bruise forming.

"dont worry about it. Jason here yet?" i asked.

"nah he doesnt come to thursday training, he has classes before school."

i nodded.

"well you probably have important basketball stuff to do, so dont let me get in your way. see you around man." i said, holding my fist up.

he tapped my fist with his own and returned to the court.

i sighed and walked outside to the woods, seeing eddie waiting at his table.

"you busy?" i asked.

he looked up, surprised to see me.

"waiting for someone, whats up?" he asked, pulling his jumper into his lap.

"figured i'd come down here for a smoke before school."

"fair, come sit." he said, moving his stuff out of the way.

i obliged, sitting beside him facing away from the table.

"that bruise is coming up nicely." he smirked, pointing to my eye.

"shut up." i sighed, pulling a joint and a matchbox from my bag.

i struck the match, putting the joint in my mouth and lighting it before flicking the match onto the cold, damp floor and putting the box back in my bag.

i took a long, deep inhale and passed him the joint before exhaling.

he took it, bringing it to his soft, vermillion coloured lips and doing the same before passing it back.

"i have a stupid idea." i said, taking it and sitting for a moment.

"i am a stupid idea."

"take a hit, then kiss me and push the smoke into my mouth." i smirked.

"kiss you?" he suddenly seemed nervous.

"you dont have to, it was just an idea."

"no, no i'd love to kiss you! i mean- i wouldnt love to but-" he began to ramble.

"you ok there eds? brainscramble?"

he nodded.

i took a hit and leaned towards him.
