after school, mike got in my car and we went to go get holly.
i fixed my make-up when we pulled up and made it extra thick for her teacher.
"alright, i'll be back." i said, getting out of the car and heading to the library to grab her.
"holls, come on kiddo!" i called from the doorway.
"oh, winifred. i picked this up for you." her teacher stepped toward me, handing me a flier for her church's youth group.
"thank you, but i'm not interested." i smiled, taking holly's hand as she ran up to me.
"you should at least consider it."
"holly block your ears." i said, letting go of her hand.
she pushed her hands over her little ears.
"i'll consider it after my date tonight, i might even just have the power of the lord come over me and stop me from premarital touching." i joked, taking holly's hand as i left.
her teacher sat there, disgusted as we got into the car.
"what's that?" mike asked, looking at the flier.
"youth group thing her teacher gave me, you buckled up sweetheart?" i asked, checking the back mirror.
she nodded and looked out the window as i pulled out, turning the radio up and heading for home.
