Song in title- Let You Break My Heart Again by Laufey
—~~••~~—We approached the gleaming gates of Cloud Kingdom, the golden clouds shifting like mist, enveloping the towering structures of the city beyond. Just as we reached the entrance, a figure stepped out from the mist, his robes flowing gracefully in the wind.
"Welcome to Cloud Kingdom. We've been expecting you," the man said, a confident smile on his face.
"Ha, how are we—" Jay laughed, about to speak when his words were interrupted by the strange figure's calm, almost knowing expression.
"Standing on a cloud? Easy. In other Realms, there are other rules. I'm Fenwick. I've been asked to show you around," he introduced himself, giving us a welcoming nod.
"Well, nice to meet you. I'm—" Kai started, taking a step forward, but Fenwick held up a hand, cutting him off.
"Kai, yes, we know. You're quite popular with the other monks. Up here, we see everything that goes on in Ninjago," Fenwick stated, his eyes twinkling with an unspoken understanding of Kai's notoriety. He seemed to know more about us than we did about him, a fact that unsettled even the normally unshakable Kai.
"Then you know—" Cole began, only to be interrupted again by Fenwick, who spoke with the same eerie calm.
"You've traveled far for the Sword of Sanctuary, a powerful weapon that can foresee your opponent's next attack. It's also the second clue to finding the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master," Fenwick said, his voice measured but firm, as if the weight of the information rested lightly on his shoulders.
"Blimey. But how be you—" Zane started, his curiosity piqued by the mysterious man's knowledge of their mission.
"Finishing your sentences? I know, it's rather annoying, but up here, we know," Fenwick said with a playful smirk. "Let's just say... we know what's going to come next." His eyes flickered, and for a moment, I could have sworn they glinted with something more than just knowledge—something more ancient, more powerful.
"Well, we should—" I began, knowing what was coming, and as expected, Fenwick cut me off before I could finish.
"Hurry? I know Morro isn't far behind," he said, his tone suddenly serious, though still calm. "Follow me, and I'll explain." Without another word, he turned, his robes flowing behind him like a curtain of mist, and began to ascend the stairs leading into the heart of Cloud Kingdom.
We followed him, our footsteps light on the clouds beneath us, as the kingdom spread out before us—tall, floating towers made of translucent crystal, shining with a soft glow. The air was filled with the sound of distant bells and the whispers of ancient monks.
Fenwick led us into a vast library, where monks were seated at long tables, writing on long, delicate scrolls. Their movements were fluid, almost meditative, and their pens seemed to move with an unearthly grace. As we entered, their heads turned toward us, murmuring among themselves.
"Wow, it's the ninja," one monk whispered, staring at us with awe in his eyes.
"They are here," another murmured, eyes wide as though seeing us was as momentous as a prophecy unfolding.
"How?" a third whispered, barely audible as he looked from one of us to the other.
"The ninja," a fourth monk breathed, a smile creeping across his face.
"I know you're familiar with a few of the realms," Fenwick began, his voice carrying across the hushed library. "Cloud Kingdom is just one of the Sixteen Realms that exist parallel to Ninjago." He paused, letting the information settle in the air like the weight of ancient knowledge. "Each realm has its own rules, its own guardians, its own purpose. But here, we've watched over Ninjago's greatest threats and the flow of time itself."
