Tomi sat on the ledge of the roof, hidden partially by the brick walls all around her and the railling on her left, which she leaned against for support.
"So." Will began awkwardly. "You ever done this before?"
Tomi scoffed a small laughter, though it was clearly devoided of humor. "Which part? The part where I have to lock in the Volturi with night, or the part where I'm part of a misfit band of Elementals?"
"Uh," Will scratched at his neck uncomfortably, though his face was still somehow confident. "The first, I guess."
"Yep. First time. You?"
"No," He shook his head. "I've had my fair share of dealings with the Volturi."
"Really?" Tomi asked, still fixated on the dawn all around them, slowly transforming into night, her dearest friend. "I can't imagine why." And that was not sarcastic. Werewolves and Vampires, as far as Tomi knew, didn't like each other and preferred putting many, many miles between each other.
"My family wasn't a big fan of Vampires." Will shrugged at her, leaning two elbows on the ledge as he also watched the sky go from pink to a deep, indigo purple.
"That bad, uh?"
"Worse than you can imagine." He muttered, raising his hand to run it over his thick black curls.
"Is that why you left?"
"No," Will's face became a bit guarded, but remained.. kind, nonetheless. Not exactly eager, but not too shut off either. It was an odd mix on his features. "I was... exiled."
Tomi paused in her admiration, and then felt the surge of her powers retreat as shock took place. She'd figured that he wasn't on good terms with his peers--- but that he was exiled...
