Austrian GP weekend was supposed to be a refreshing weekend, until whilst Mick was busy in Silverstone, (Y/N) was with her family after they all came home from a holiday. It all started with a sore throat, then turning into a cough in the following days, as well as a stuffy nose, before the third day being full-blown COVID infection. Her family had tested negative upon arrival, none of them had symptoms, but as soon as (Y/N) had symptoms, they all had positive tests.

She was heartbroken, she knew that this would be the only chance she would have to see a GP with minimal travel, and one that his father won four times, it was so incredibly important for them both to be there, but she had to break that promise, at least this time.

"Seb?" (Y/N)'s voice croaked down the phone. "Is--" A hacking cough came through, deafening his left ear. "Mick with you?"

"He is not, but I can try and find him." He said, listening to the intense wheezing down the phone. "Oh no, darling, don't tell me..." His voice droned, sadness and disappointment for Mick settling in.

"Yup, two and a half years nearly, and I've got it on a special weekend." The patient grumbled, the cough interrupting with a vengeance.

"I will find him, stay on the line." Seb instructed, receiving a lacklustre groan in response. He waltzed into the Haas garage, seeing Guenther and asking where Mick was, since it was an urgent matter. The team manager had said that Mick had gone into his suite to prepare for the race after the prior day's sprint, since his blood was boiling thanks to the team decisions. Seb checked that (Y/N) was still there as he jogged his way to the small room.

"Mick?" Seb asked, a disgruntled 'not now' rang through the door before Seb let walked on in anyway, thrusting the phone at him. "Urgent." was all that he said, Mick's eyes reading 'Love Bug' and suddenly feeling some terror in his body.

"Schatzi, what's wrong?" All he got in response was a croaky hello and a coughing fit. "Oh no..." He muttered, knowing (Y/N) had booked for an early morning flight that day.

"Honey, I am so sorry, it's the plague, I can't make it..." She broke down crying, the sobs getting caught in with the coughing. "I really wanted to make it, I was so careful, now I can't be with you for this special race!" She continually sobbed, sniffing harshly as she couldn't regain her breath back.

"(N/N), calm down, breathe with me, okay?" Mick instructed, Seb following along as his moral support, helping him contain his panic over the situation. After a few reps, (Y/N)'s breathing had returned to her new normal. "Can I speak now, please?" He asked, receiving a noncommittal groan. "It's okay. You aren't safe to fly, and you are not well enough to. Do you want me to come ho--" He was abruptly cut off.

"Not a fucking chance, Schumacher. You have worked too hard your entire life to throw away the chance to do well." She sternly responded, the clarity in her voice really trying to come through, proving her seriousness. Seb nodded, having heard what she said from a short distance, and Mick's head dropped, knowing his loved ones were correct. He let out a heavy sigh, feeling Seb pat his back in a fatherly way.

"I'll get points for you today, and come straight home, I'll do as little media I can to come home. We'll be together soon, okay? I'll look after you when I get home." Mick insisted, making (Y/N) softly giggle, leaving her breathless.
