=================

The red pillar in the sky dissipated and the person on the other side was none other than Observer.

She was surprised by the existence of an deflector shield surrounding the entire island. As she thought by the time she finished preparing, the coasts would've been already damaged, apparently not this time.

Not only that, there was island-based defences like the massive cannons that Azur Lane also has on the island itself shooting comfortably at the Sirens, thinning them out.

And Azur Lane's preparedness for this battle annoyed Observer.

Her eyes glowed as more red pillars of light appear from all over the island, summoning Sirens by the waves, while also adding portals in the mix where Siren frigates, cruisers and some aircraft carriers got out and let out their ammunition towards the inconvenient deflector shield that has the Sirens stone-walled.

Meanwhile inside of the deflector shield, while everyone went ahead and started to shoot the Sirens surrounding the shield instead of waiting for the shield to break, some girls went past that and leapt out from the protection of the shield to fight the Sirens head-on.

First, it was the entirety of Ironblood who together got out of the shield to face the Sirens with all their might.

Next up, it was New Jersey from the Eagle Union. Finally her chance to fight where it matters most. Along with her cohorts that came along with her to get here. San Francisco, and Boise.

With the Siren's attention divided between New Jersey and the entirety of Ironblood, it gave encouragement for the other girls to also jump out of the shield and fight the Sirens head-on.

This in turn, gave the deflector shield a lot of juice to keep itself active as the Sirens weren't focusing on it anymore. This also gave valuable time for the little destroyers to be safely put into the underground bunkers for maximum protection, as they can't just sneakily leave the island unnoticed.

Last time they tried that, 2 destroyers died on Yorktown's watch. Not exactly an optimal escape plan.

A-kun: Sorry for that rough flashback to messed up times, guys.

Observer still kept watching from a striking distance from the action. Detecting how many girls they're gonna have to go through, and trying to find Caster with x-ray if he's secretly lurking around as he always does. First, she didn't expect the all-powerful New Jersey to be present in this battle. Surprised that she went all this way to join Caster, now this battle is now looking an uphill battle, not for Azur Lane, but for the Sirens.

Though a much more pressing matter for Observer is that deflector shield is still present, being a sore in Observer's eyes. And so she's doing something about it.

By opening a massive portal in the near the base. And simultaneously the Sirens fell back and opted for ranged fire, as a massive Siren Aircraft Carrier was peaking through about to hit the shield.

Some of the girls reported this to Akashi and the Monitor duo and was about to drop the whole shield, but it was too late as the heaviness of the carrier was too much for the shield and tore a hole through it, and by the time that the monitors dropped the shield, it caused so much burden that it can't be used for the rest of the battle without stalling the battle out. And in that case, Azur Lane might as well lose if they prolong the battle.

So the shield drops, and the Sirens are free to wreck havoc to the buildings that the island has and turn the island hell on Earth. And for Observer, there's only one mission for her.
