I know there hasn't been any hinting about StarSong appearing in Make Your Mark, but I've got an idea for what she could be like if she DID appear.
She'd still be a Pegasus, but she would've been born with a backwards wing. This wouldn't have made her a clumsy flier (given that Pegasi didn't have the magic to fly), but it sure would've looked silly, so she'd eventually start trying to earn money for a surgery to fix her wing. Inspired by Princess Pipp, StarSong would decide on singing and dancing in the streets (probably wearing dresses that cover up her wings).
The performing filly's doting parents would definitely want to record their daughter's talent, and the videos would go viral, leading to StarSong earning her fame (and her Cutie Mark). She'd go on to get networked with an agent and quickly earn enough money to correct her backwards wing. Even after the wing-fixing surgery, however, StarSong would continue her career, having found her true calling.
In the present-day, StarSong might go to Zipp to help her adjust to flying (to work it into her dancing), and she and Pipp would develop a friendly rivalry. They might differ with StarSong incorporating a variety of ballet moves into her choreography (often wearing a ballet outfit) and maybe adding some extra edge to her performances (her songs being more pop-rock than straight-up pop, and her choreography including a "foreleg pirouette").
In terms of character design, StarSong would look a lot like she did in G3, except her wavy pink mane would be either shorter or pulled-back (most of the time), as well as boasting more volume. She'd also have midnight-blue eyes and light-hot-pink hooves, and her Cutie Mark could have a dark-purple eighth-note hanging on the star.
