Recently, the atmosphere of City A has been filled with excitement.

Not long ago, an auction was held for some plots of land in different cities. The least favorite plots were the ones from City X. There was barely any competition, but one company acquired two of the five plots put up for auction. This was surprising because everyone avoided City X like it was a plague.

Everyone laughed at this foolish company and its even more foolish decision. Sadly, they couldn't laugh for too long.

Now, businessmen were wallowing in regrets while the companies that purchased plots for City X were full of jubilation. Why?

The government recently announced its plans to revitalize City X, and its starting point was located in the north of City X. The government planned to establish a central business district there.

What a shock! A central business district represented a concentration of banking and financial institutions, good infrastructure, and efficient transportation. Everything that businesses needed to thrive.

Businessmen scrambled to get their hands on those juicy plots, and the prices of plots of land located in the Northern part of City X soared. Even the plots not far from the northern part experienced increased demand. A small plot that cost 50 million in the north was sold for 150 million.

In the middle of all this, people also noticed the five plots of land that were auctioned recently. They were located in the middle of the northern and central parts of City X and were best suited for residential areas.

Profits from building a residential area in such a location would be unimaginable, but few had the capital to do so. It was a huge piece of meat they would choke on if they tried to swallow.

The owners of three of the plots located there were both excited and panicked. A big shot might appear and take those pieces of their hands for a massive price, or it might never happen. They were torn between waiting and selling them to others willing to risk waiting.

While the owners of the three plots were in a dilemma, the real estate company that purchased two plots was unbothered. This company belonged to Yi Duyi.

When Yu Yuan instructed him to bid for those two plots, he was troubled. Like everyone else, he knew of the circumstances surrounding these plots of land at City X. While the instruction seemed wrong, Yu Yuan was very good at what she did, so he decided to obey. Besides, he didn't have a choice. The money belonged to her, and their contract allowed her to make that choice.

Now, he was very glad he did. Despite the skepticism, Yu Yuan believed that a mogul would buy those plots. It gave him confidence. Thinking of how much they could be sold for, Yi Duyi slept and woke up with a smile on his face. He was always counting money in his dreams.

The question now was who would buy all five plots of land in the northern part of City X.

Huo Wei was in a meeting examining a business plan for a large residential area. The person presenting the proposal felt like he was sitting on pins and needles. Huo Wei had pointed out many flaws in the business proposal and scolded them accordingly. Even Xie Chang wasn't spared.

Anytime he turned a new page, their hearts went to their throats.
Huo Wei finished going through the plan. He raised his head to look at the presenter.

Trepidation filled the presenter. Was he displeased with it? Did he want a revision?

Huo Wei questioned, "I noticed that the date on this plan has far passed. Why am I just getting it now?"

The presenter gathered his wits. "Sir, we've had this plan for quite a while now but we shelved it because we couldn't find a suitable location. We are bringing it to your attention because we discovered a suitable place."

"City X?"

"Yes, Sir. The place between the central and northern part of City X is perfect. Initially, we didn't focus on it because we thought it environs lacked the development we needed. But things are different now. After the government announcement, we recalled this project and decided to bring it to your attention."

Huo Wei nodded. The proposal was well thought out, and the profits indicated it was worthwhile. But some flaws were hard to look at.

"Start the acquisition of those plots and prepare a more detailed proposal that can be implemented for construction of the residential area."

Everyone sighed in relief. Xie Chang's hands moved to loosen his tie, but he managed to stop himself in time. Huo Wei was still present.

"That's all for today. I hope next time will be better than this."

After speaking, he got up and left. Assistant Lin followed him.

The rest gathered their belongings to leave while wondering how to avoid scolding in the next meeting.
Xie Chang could finally loosen his tie. Sigh! Huo Wei was so oppressive during meetings.

Yu Yuan received the news that Huo Wei had purchased the other three plots from the northern part of City X. This news came from Yi Duyi. He noticed that the plots had changed hands, and recently, the Huo Company reached out to him to negotiate the purchase of the remaining two plots.

Yi Duyi was beside himself with joy. This was the Huo Company they were talking about. This deal, if successful, would be the biggest his real estate company had ever received.

As he was thinking of who would accompany him to the Huo Company, Yu Yuan said, "I'll go with you."

Huh? Yi Duyi was stunned for a moment before he vehemently agreed. Yu Yuan was an excellent negotiator. With her around, they didn't have to worry about not getting the best price.

Yu Yuan had intended to go regardless of who was interested in purchasing the plots. It was a huge deal, so doing a bit more would be favorable. But she didn't expect that the Huo Company would be one. What a coincidence.

Later in Huo Wei's office.

"You mean that Miss Yu will be present at the negotiation?"

Assistant Lin replied, "Yes, Sir."

Assistant Lin had been to the finance department to deliver a few messages from the CEO, and he happened to overhear the names of the people coming over to the Huo Company for the negotiation on Plots A and B.

The name Yi Duyi didn't ring a bell, but Yu Yuan was very familiar. He submitted an investigation results to his boss about this person not long ago. Then, he recalled that the investigation result also said that she had an investment in a real estate company. Who would have thought that it was the same company?

He was quick to report it, feeling that his boss might be interested in this piece of information. It seems that he was right.

Huo Wei was silent, recalling the piercing gaze of the lady in that video. Then, he made a split-second decision. "I'll perform the negotiation."

Assistant Lin was stunned. The residential area project might be huge, but it didn't require Huo Wei to come forward personally. It seems that his boss was more interested than he thought. Good thing he thought in that direction.

Assistant Lin put aside his thoughts and responded, "I'll pass this information to the finance department."
